I took my RECALL-A-RODO in yesterday for the transfer update, waited 2 hours. I really like my truck, but it has cost me more than 8 hrs. of waiting time. Maybe I should be compensated for my time. After the update everything seemed the same.

Your issue should be with your dealer, not GM. According to GM, that update should take 4/10 of an hour, or about 20-25 minutes. If your dealer has you waiting 2 hours for a 20 minute fix, then that is on them, not GM.

I've had my truck since Feb. 28th. I've driven it 7,500 trouble free miles and have spent a total of 1.5 hours at the dealership. In that 1.5 hours, they changed the oil, rotated the tires, and took care of 3 open recalls/tsbs on the truck, and even had time to give me a complimentary car wash in that hour and a half too. all paid for by GM. I can't complain.

Stopped by dealer today and asked about transfer case recall. He told me some were not taking long but some were taking as long as 3 hours to do depending on model. Don't know what he meant. Chevy, GMC, trim level, you would think the transfer case update would be the same. I think like some others here they are just having trouble with this update. I'm going to wait a little while and give them a chance to get it figured out better.

Haven't seen issues transfer case update at all. Ip "peek in" update is a hole other can of worms.

Yeah, I don't know what the problem is, but he said it was taking up to 3 hours to do some of them. Small dealer, probably haven't done many of this recall yet. Maybe they are doing the peek in update also. But he didn't mention it,

Has anyone noticed a decrease in gas mileage since the update?

FYI Only.

I called to setup an appointment for this recall. My dealer advised me to wait at least 30 days since I am not experiencing a problem.

The reason for the delay is because some people who are getting the BCM flash to resolve the problem are loosing their stereo. I did not ask for any specifics so I cannot answer any questions. I suggest talking with your dealer before getting the "fix".

I taking my truck for this recall this Saturday. The service manager told me is just a software update. Also, they going to do the other recall on the odometer and gauges.

I'm still going to wait until they get the gauge reflash straightened out, because I know they'll do both at the same time.

All these reprogramming trips are starting to piss me off. This is all stuff that GM should have figured out in the research and development phase. Surely they took a few out for a test drive?

Starting to get tired of paying companies to be their product tester. And it happens in just about everything these days. Just get them out the door, we'll worry about it later, after we already have their money!

Agreed on all points. I'm definitely waiting until later this fall to do these recalls at my next oil change. I'm hoping they get the kinks worked out by then.

And also agreed on the point about tired of being a tester. I swore after my 2007 had a ton of issues that I'd never buy a first edition again, but I did it anyway thinking no way Chevy could make 2 bad trucks in a row that I end up with. Well turns out they're really good at doing that. This 2014 is DEFINITELY my last first edition of any vehicle ever. I'll buy used before I buy a new first edition again.
