There was a TSB for this on the Lambda vehicles (Outlook/Traverse/Acadia/Enclave). It involved changing out the brake booster, master cylinder, and most importantly the brake fluid. I don't have the TSB number but ask the dealer to look up the issue on those vehicles. I had it done to our Enclave a few years ago and the squeak has not been back.

Thanks. Did some Googling and found it seems to be a common issue. Funny thing is his Enclave is at the dealer right now because its leaking engine coolant from somewhere. His Buick has been by far the shittiest vehicle he's ever had. Problems every 10k miles. First the water pump went out, then the HVAC controller, BOTH heated front seats stopped working, then the ALL of the in-dash air blend actuators stopped working, then his A/C crapped out, now leaking coolant. What a piece of shit. He's waiting for 2015 Sierras/Silverados then I think he is getting rid of that car.

Bad luck lately, literally just had my sisters 2008 Equinox in the shop leaking coolant from a bad head gasket.

Well , well, well. The Damn brake pedal started the squeaking again. Finally got in to the dealer so they could examine. New booster will be installed Friday. WD-40 and other BS is NOT the solution!

What is a booster?

Posted (edited)

A brake booster makes it easier to push the brake pedal. It is a vacuum assist system. If the car did not have a brake booster, it would be very hard to push the brake pedal and stop the car. The brake booster is located underneath the hood in the engine compartment, behind the brake master cylinder.

2015 SILVERADO. Squeeke in brake pedal every time it's applied! Had the booster replaced twice and its still squeeke's. This is crazy annoying. Just replaced the booster at jerry seiner in salt lake on 12-23-14. Squeeke is back 12-25-14. MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Bringing this post back. Mine has been squeaking when applying the brakes. Started about 3k ago. At 21k. +/-. I looked at it tonight. the rod that goes from the pedal to the master cylinder is tight and the noise is from the rod going through the boot. I was thinking some grease or lubricate on the rod where it goes through the boot would be the fix. ??? anyone.

Update. Dealer put some silicone looking grease on the push rod at the boot. quiet. Now I know the fix. I didn't want to grease it myself if there was a booster issue, recall etc. Now that the dealer looked at it just greased it, I can do that every few months. Easy enough. I'll use my NAPA bearing grease.

Update again. Whatever the dealer did a few months back in July is over with. My truck has been consistently squeaking on the brake pedal. I cannot get it to stop..

My '16 HD has been doing this off and on since I got it a few weeks ago. The HD trucks have a recall and I wonder if they are related at all. I'll find out when I take it in for the recall in the next few weeks.

^Please update. My truck pedal makes noise 100% of the time time Unreal. I wish I took it in before the 36k warranty ran up. I was so busy and confident it was a bit of grease on the brake pedal rode by the foot well area..... NOT.
