Took my Vette to our last "Jim T's Summer Cruise" of the season... It was Trunk-or-Treat night and a record turnout in 80 degree temps... over 800 cars and 5000 spectators tonight! Pretty awesome night.....

Damn that's a nice turnout.

I had mine out Friday morning, hit a rain storm during my quick ride :(

The last cruise in of the year for Tulsa will be Tuesday, might have to go. If the two other guys trying to buy my bird when I was want it, that could get interesting if they made an offer. This thing would take so long to find the right buyer for(usually Pontiac guy(they absolutely LOVE Pontiacs with dedicated Pontiac V8s and performance parts), who wants a high horsepower Firebird/Pontiac, ready to race, and doesn't mind its older, imperfect paint work.) I guess I was the exception on to the rule, I just appreciated that the previous owner went through the expense of now copping out and putting in a SBC. If someone offers within a few hundred of what I have in it, it will be sold, even more if its not for sale. Learned that lesson of turning down good offers on my last classic.

Ran it around a bit last night. A new Benz pulled up next to me at a light on the highway and the guy and his girl were looking at it, and then it started inching up. I have no idea if he was trying anything, but when the light turned green I showed him he had no chance, when I hit the limit(55) and let off he hadn't made it through the intersection.

That's one thing that stinks about the car, if your trying to obey the law, the fun only lasts a few seconds!

I'm still confused by why you want to sell it?

I just added some more to the post. Its not "for sale" but if someone wants it bad enough, I will sell. I learned that lesson on my 69 Camaro RS. I turned down 26K~, and when I sold it every offer I got for weeks was 20K.

The thing is a blast, crap load of power, quick and tight steering(not sure what box it has), and its fine to drive around town if you know what your getting into(very loud, big cam, choppy idle, sits pretty low, limit your short trips to 4~ on hot days or the battery will get punished by high power fans and starter, you might not have it running enough to recharge it) and since the paint is nice enough to get comments, but not so nice you worry about it.

The front suspension is adjustable, but I'd rather just lower the back eventually with a 4-link or torque arm.

^ I'm sure you've got pics of it somewhere but mind posting again? I've got a 800+ hp ws6, so I'm a big fan of the fast Pontiac's

I took a couple videos of my WS6 today! Had to do it before it ends up stored for the winter tomorrow. Can't figure out how to post the videos with my iPhone so will have to post later with photobucket.

But here's a pic for now. About 670 rwhp. Supercharger, cam, headers, lq9 motor, and tons more. post-126516-141447363584_thumb.jpg

I was one of those Pontiac guys too. Stopped by a dealer in 2006 staring at a GTO. Miss the Firebird, but after finding out it had been wrecked by the previous owner, it got traded off a few months after this was taken in September 2006.

Selling mine was one of my biggest mistakes. Tried to buy it back. Not a chance. .. it was a great ride!

Nice WS6!

I bought mine in July and had been sorting things out until recently.

I tried to have mine chassis dyno'ed but the shop couldn't keep from spinning the wheels at 5400. (They, an import shop, said they weren't sure, maybe it was a "timing issue", but got on some classic car sites and asked around and the general consensus led up to a experienced dyno guy telling me it was wheelspin on the graph. )

I ended up looking at the MSD digital 6 and noticed it was retarded 10 degrees, and the plugs looked better after I removed that, so I probably got some good power gains just there!

It had a blower before the previous owner bought it, so I figure the 10 degree retard was from that.

Its all motor, no power adders. I figure 700 or more HP, and here is how I get to that:

With the 10 degree retard it hit 480rwhp at 5400 when the wheels started spinning. But power drop off on the road is felt at 6100-6200, which is about right when looking at similar engines in magazine builds I have found. Those engines made 690 to 730 flywheel. My trans is a TH400, and while tough, is a power suck. Then, I'm told that 10 degrees I have back could be anywhere from 20-50 HP.

If there was only a dyno in Tulsa experienced with high HP RWD muscle cars!

Got more attention than I was expecting. Had to answer the same engine questions a dozen or two times. Will have to print up a Q&A sheet for next year

Very nice. My dad had one just like it. It's the reason I got mine.

SCORE! At the car show a guy recommended a Mustang Tuner to dyno. They use a Dynapak, which mounts to the wheel hubs. The tires can't slip! Sounds like I need to get up there!

    • I agree with Tim.  As tech heavy as engines are these days, no way I’d be an early buyer of the new 6.6.  Of course, I bought my ‘26 Denali w/the 6.2 after dumping my Tundra with it’s defective 3.5 liter imploding engine disaster, so I’m a little gun-shy.  That said, my 6.2 has been rock solid.  I don’t drive it like I do my BMW Z4 M40i, but I don’t baby it either.  I got a V8 for a reason.  But I’m averaging 18 around town and 22 highway.  I have seen 24 highway as well when I wasn’t loaded up heavy.  Considering my Tundra with the twin turbo V6 only got 14.5 in town and 17 on the road, I’ll take the 6.2 all day, every day.  If I were you, I’d grab a ‘26 while you can.  Inventories are probably gonna start dropping and I’ll bet the deals will start looking sweeter as well.
    • I am curious if anyone has figured out a way to add an hard button AUX or 360 Camera switch to the center row of switches. I have a 2021 AT4, and want to split the hill decent button and add a 360 camera button so that you don't have to go into the center display and locate the camera functionality, etc...   My father's 2024 Yukon XL AT4 and it has a hard button, see below. I found this thread on the Yukons, but it seems like there may not be a part number for the 2021 sierras. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/255339-adding-hard-button-for-camera-on-2021/ Anyone else figured this out. Seems like it would need to be a custom switch!   I am getting ready to install the auto stop/start eliminator, so would be nice to knock them out at once.     Upvote1Downvote0Go to comments
    • Looks like the entire state is burning. 😬
    • Through the years it hasn't been my typical method as I tried to drop oil on an engine that was hot from having been worked, however that was not always practical and had to fire up a unit and let it warm up reasonably well and drop the oil when I had the time to do it but am referring to not only vehicles but a variety of farm equipment and highway tractors etc. However on a vehicle where one is crawling under it and the exhaust is nearby to ones body and if wanting to pull the plug without danger of being hit with boiling hot oil or attempting to remove a HOT oil filter, its sure safer and easier to not have everything smoking hot and can remove the filter right away when under the vehicle and let it all drain. Of course its not the end of the world if a bit of oil stays in the engine that might have eventually found its way out, I like to get out as much as possible but any oil changes that take place in shops would rarely be sitting around for very long at all before the plug is thrown back in and filter slapped on and oil poured in and sent out the door quick like. There would be very little time spent ( assuming they even did it ) in starting the engine with oil to fill the filter, then waiting to verify the level on the stick. A good reason to check ones oil level shortly after a shop changed the oil on a vehicle just to make sure its correct and to look under for any oil around the drain plug or filter.
