How much light does the light bar throw out being behind the Z71 grille like that? I want to do the same thing, but wasn't sure how much that would affect the light output. I also have the '14 Z71 like yours and noticed the cross-members of the grille are a bit thicker (wasn't sure how well you could aim the beam through them). Got any pics of it at night?

Also, the mounts you made look great, did you machine those or pick them up somewhere?

Thanks - Jon

I machined the brackets myself.

The light bar is so bright that the slats in the grill don't do anything to block it out.

In this picture it's not aimed perfectly, it's kind of shining into the ground.

Whats the best way to mount the light bar to the metal braces? Anyone sell brackets?

Here's how I did mine. I just got a piece of aluminum from Home Depot and cut it down. I bolted it to the radiator mounts and then the light bar to that.

I don't have a direct pic of what I did so I found the best I could and zoomed in, brightened it, and cleared it up as best I could on my iPhone with my photo apps.

What size light bar? what does it look like closed?

30" bar. Not sure what you mean by closed. If you mean what does it look like when everything is out back together I have some pictures already posted in this thread. Post #73.

Here it is. Just stepped outside to take a pic to show you I have it

do they make this for the LTZ grille? I'm not sure why it just says for z71? I figured inserts would be the same measurements
