Truck wouldn't start. Recharged the battery. Battery good. Truck started.

A couple of days later: Truck wouldnt start. Had battery checked. Battery bad. Replaced battery. Had alternator checked. Alternator good.

Tried parasitic leak test. 1.4A leak (varies between .6A and 1.4A). Pulled all fuses individually in main fuse box. No change in leak.

I need to check the interior fuse panel, but need to disable the door switch so as not to damage the multimeter.

Dumb question: Where is the door switch? I think I may be retarded.

Any other theories on what may be causing this problem?

Can you explain the part about having to disable the pillar switch to protect your multi-meter?

I was told the functions that operate when the door is open would be too much for the meter to handle.

One of us is retarded.

Really, I think it is a matter of isolating the leak. If I have certain components operated when the door is open, such as the instrument cluster, I can't isolate the parasitic component.

Take a screwdriver and push into the door latch to trip the door switch. The reason behind doing this is to keep the bcm asleep. If not the bcm wakes up when door is open and turns on interior lights, etc causing more if a draw.
