Dash rattle solved

Truck has 1500 miles and since new a loose screw sound from the passenger side area has bothered me going over small to medium sized bumps at slow speeds. I feared taking off the dash cover due to clips.

I had my sunglass holder down today and hit a bump and looked up at the right moment and saw a piece of plastic in the sunglass compartment shake and make a loose screw sound. Needless to say I put a piece of rubber on it with a sticky back and it no longer wiggles causing that sound.

Ahh the small things. u2y5arep.jpg

Finding those annoying rattles is awsome. Very satisfying when you fix them once and for all.

I wish I could fit sunglasses in the sunglasses holder!

Me too. Apparently it was designed for bifocals only.

Yeah I have a small pair of sunglasses and they barely fit....

Mine fit in there, I just cannot get them back out. Thanks for the reminder. Been in there for a couple months now.

lol, yea I have this rattle too. I haven't fixed it yet, but I've noticed it in several loaners I've driven too. This re-motivated me to fix it.

Do you happen to have a better image that shows the spot you put the rubber on. That appears to dark for me to see that. Great find by the way.

^I just stuck a piece of weatherstripping behind that clip and so the clip now rests snug against it and no longer rattles.

I had that rattle ticking sound also on my 2015 2500 and found it to be that plastic piece also so I removed it and it doesn't affect nothing door still works as it should, don't know why its there.
