Hey all,

My name is Curry and im from Virginia and drive a 2004 GMC 2500 HD 4x4. I am having an issue with my brakes that i can not figure out what it is. Ive taken it to 2 shops and they have told me "Your brake pads are fine" and "We cant find anything wrong with them". So i know it cant be something simple. My brakes work fine under normal everyday driving braking conditions, but if i need to slam on the brakes, very hard, it feels like the front left losses braking power, or it is slipping, or something. It is not the ABS kicking in but I have no idea what it is. This has already caused an accident and every shop must think im crazy because they all say my brakes are fine which they are not because this is still happening. Can anyone help?

Thanks so much,

Curry

have you had your tires checked? I had some shimmy when slamming on my brakes and it turned out it was the tires cupping and had nothing to do with brakes.

I have not checked that but I am getting new wheels and tires Wednesday so maybe that will help. Thank you for your response!

The shops that you are using are incompetent! THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM and lucky for you a easy fix.

Have both of your front brake caliper flexible hoses replaced. The brakes hoses interior liner deteriorates over years of use and the lines do not allow full flow of brake fluid. Should be less than 75 bucks per side even at the dealer.
