The clock spring is different on the heated steering wheel models. You will need both parts. I am going to attempt this next week sometime.

Did you get the heated steering wheel installed? If so, will you give us an update?

Eagerly await your report, especially since I just ordered a heated wheel myself... :-)

As far north as you are you'll love it.

It's one of those things that you think is a waste of money, then after using one for a while you'll wonder why you didn't have one before.

Used 'em before; can't wait to (hopefully) get this installed.

I am having issues getting my friendly GM mechanic to work on my truck this last week. Hopefully it will get done this week.....

I have the heated steering wheel in both my 1500s. I won't have another truck without it.

I'd assume the hardest part of swapping a non-heated wheel for a heated one will be getting the truck flashed. Sort of like the Sierra SLE to SLT headlight swap.

I waiting to see this as well. More so since several people with in GM have told me mod's like this will not work since GM took the ability out for the dealer to flash any module on a vehicle with anything other than the factory programming for that module tied to that VIN.

Most options are plug and play. The key is to find where and what you have to plug into and if in fact programming is required which is not a huge issue. On Fords there was a dealer out in WA that was very helpful in doing this. Ive yet to find a go to place for chevys

I wish threads like this actually yielded useful information instead of devolving into semantical debates over a particular feature.

Confirmed!!!!! It will work.

You do need a new clock spring ( one that has the heated wheel wires, purple with white trace and a black wire) and you must wire those wires for 12 volts switched and ground.

No reprogramming needed
