Well, looks like it's my turn to post my unfortunate incident.

 

Me and the girlfriend went out in Nashville with a group of friends to celebrate her pre-law graduation last weekend. We finally get to the hotel after running a bit late and decide to just let the attendant park the truck and hurry and get ready for dinner. Well the night was a success and my girlfriend, who is not a big drinker, got pretty intoxicated and was severely hung over the next morning. So I call for my truck and get her loaded up and head home.

 

Fast forward about 5 or 6 days and I walk around to the passenger side only to find a horrible scrape down the side of the bed and a light scratch on the wheel. It was kind of dusty like concrete and I knew immediately that had I done that, i would have known it. Nobody besides me has driven my truck so I assumed the valet parking has to be the answer.

 

Well yesterday I had to go back to Nashville, so I figured while I was in town I would do some investigating. So I go to the hotel and walk down to the garage and the first concrete/stucco wall I come to hd tire marks and a scrape perfectly matching the height of the damage on my truck bed. I mean its possible thats not from my truck, but it definitely matches. So with that ammo, I go inside and talk to the Valet Director. He informs me that since it had been a week, there was nothing he could do and that damage had to be reported at the time of check out. So I guess thats it, looks like its coming out of pocket.

 

All things considered, it could be way worse! Its not dented at all, just scraped. And most of the damage in confined to the wheel trim. I actually got lucky and found the exact piece of molding on eBay for 29.00. it was a dealer pull off and was the only single piece i found on eBay and just so happened to be an OEM piece for the right rear.

 

Guess this was a lesson learned!

Can you feel the scratch with your fingernail , if you can't you might can buff it out but from just looking at it it looks like it has to be fixed and painted.

Oh yeah, its pretty deep. I got an estimate today just to see what it would cost and it came in at 871.00. My sister-in-law is an attorney in Nashville and she said I could sue them. But at that price I don't think its worth my time to pursue. Plus I already have the fender trim which they were estimating at almost 200.00 and I have a friend that has a top notch body shop, so he'll probably fix it all for a couple hundred.

I'm sorry and hope you get everything fixed up right. Same thing happened to us in a buddy's Jeep SRT. We drove around all day and went to dinner and valet parked the SUV. Drove back to hotel and called it a night. When we got ready to leave the following morning I noticed the drivers side wheel was curbed and had yellow paint.

Nothing to be done since we didn't spot it the previous night.

That sucks.. There are about a handful of people I'd let drive my truck and strangers aren't on the list, I don't even like the dealer driving it to do service.

And nobody drives mine either but I was like, they are just parking it.....Guess I learned a valuable lesson. It only takes a second to destroy someones stuff

That sucks, I'd be pissed at that answer, visibly and in front of other guests… But makes me happy I don't live or go anywhere with valet…

I don't let valet attendant park any of my vehicles, even the cheapest one or the truck. If a place had a mandatory valet parking, I would pay the valet fee and then I would park the vehicle myself in the valet lot. Most of the times, the valet attendant would let me park the vehicle upfront by the valet stand.

I don't mean to insult the OP at all, but how many of these incidents will it take for people to see how careless SOME valet people are. If you must use valet or even like to use it, just do a quick 360 walk around every time you get the car back, takes you a minute and saves lots of heatache. I must say to the OP, I give you lots of credit for appearing to be very calm about this. I would not be so calm or nice.

key is to lift your truck so big it wont fit in parking decks. front valet parking for free, making 911 and ferrari owners who wait 10 minutes for retrieval of their cars jelly

I'm only calm because I have nobody to blame but myself, because like you stated, I should have looked the truck over...Had I noticed it the day it happened, they would have seen me come apart in the lobby. But the day we checked out, she was sick as hell and it was raining so I was trying to get her home quickly.

Yes every time anything gets worked on it now gets a walk around before I take possession. I had two of my rims scratched up bad thanks to discount tires had to plastidip them to hide it

      Because single shot injectors are ancient and multi hole injectors provide smoother running engines and sharper throttle response due to the fuel being atomized better..the best lead I have is a 24lb blue top injector almost everything matches up but the injector will put out about 26lb/hr which is just outside the gm threshold.figured id ask here to see if there was an absolute answer

      Why is my question?   Any change in injectors requires a tune. Unless you are going back with the OEM part number or a newer part number of that same injector.   Any size difference or type difference like the EV6 style injectors all have different injector data for them. And there is no EV6 injector that matches the factory 25 lb/hr size that your truck comes with. I've been messing with these trucks and tuning them for a long time and what you trying to do doesn't exactly make sense to me.

      Thought it was raining this morning when we woke. Nope. Dew point was over 80 F and humidity 98%. Zero visibility distance. Everything was 'sweating'. I've seen rain come out of clouds but never out of Pepper or the tree trunks.    Wicked storms just missed us sliding off to the east but by blocks. Heat index about 110 F with air temp in the 90's.    This is  our third wave this month of multiple days of this type of weather. And yet the grass is going dormant and the ground is cracking this side of the street and water up the the hood opposite. Just weird stuff going on.
