Newb in North Dakota

I just bought a 2015 Sierra 1500 and am in the bitter cold of Minot, ND. It averages -20 in the winter, I only drive about 3/4 mile to work, so my truck NEVER reaches optimum temps. I have an engine block heater, but my work doesn't have plug ins. I have been considering getting a winter grill cover (like you see on diesel engines) to help the truck warm up faster.

I have never seen this done on a gas engine before, would installing a grill cover increase the longevity of the truck or just be a waste of $50. I've read that gas engines only need 30sec to warm up, but I'm not sure that is referring to temps as low as what I see here.

Any advise is helpful.

I'm also in Minot. I've never added any type of grill cover or plugged in the block heater at work and haven't had any issues. I usually just remote start and let it run for 10-15 minutes before leaving to warm up the truck.
