So basically you made a shiner version of the AT wheels

I don't like how it looks. It looks cheap and degrades the look of a $40k truck. Getting them powder coated a different color or even trading them for some All Terrain wheels would result in a better look.

you realize that you can't powder coat or paint a chrome rim without possibly destroying the wheels unless you did the entire rim. I like the rims but thought from day one they were to flashy for a truck. With vinyl i get the look i want and the day i trade or sell- it still has the factory option rims and the Vinyl peels right off with a steam pressure washer.

Hey man if you can, will you keep this post updated as to how your vinyl holds up on the wheels? I thought about wrapping mine all in gloss black, but decided not to as I was afraid the heat from the brakes would mess with it. I just couldn't help but think the heat would ruin the wrap. I hope I'm wrong!! That and I got quoted $65/wheel for powder coating, I thought it was a lot more expensive.

The issue is that the vinyl job looks bad. The edges are not straight and even and I can't even imagine how the vinyl will look in a few weeks after brake dust has settled. I'm all for doing cheap/free mods but you have to know what you are working with. To me doing this to my $40k truck makes it look tacky.

Those creases will also allow brake dust to settle right on the corners. If left uncleaned will damage the chrome finish.

As far as powder coating goes it really depends on how much you really like those wheels. A good powder coat job will run you around $200 per wheel. For that much I'd rather just invest in some aftermarket wheels.

I agree.. I wouldn't want something like that on such a nice truck...

I've never had anything powder coated before. The shop told me gloss black would be $65/wheel for 20" oem wheels, $15/wheel for dismount/mount and balance, $320 out the door.
