Would You Buy Again?

8k on my 15 Sierra and I would definitely buy it again! Are there some legitimate issues others have had or are having, sure. I'm not crazy about the crappy lights on the sierra but there is away around that. I'm sure I could find something I didn't like about any new truck if I was really looking hard enough. I feel this community is fairly small and thus the sample size is small. Take the 5-10% here with problems and then put that into real world numbers and I'm confident most are happy with there purchase. Thats just my 2 cents....good luck and like most have said do yourself a favor and test drive, test drive, test drive!

I might also add that I traded my '13 Silverado for this one. This is a MUCH better truck than my '13 was. Better in all areas... Suspension, appearance, ride quality, interior noise level, gas mileage, seats, dash, instrument panel, rear camera..... I could go on!

I also traded in a 2013 and agree with everything you said. Head and shoulders better than my 2013.

Yes I would buy my truck again. It was quite an improvement over the all plastic interior I had in my 2009 Sierra. I guess I got lucky compared to others with the vibration issues. I did not test drive any GMCs till I drove it home off the lot. I have not had any serious issues to date. Bought Sept 2013.

I wouldn't purchase my 2014 again. I would instead purchase a 2015 equipped exactly the same but in that new orange metallic color! Also, don't solely base your decision to purchase off online forum threads. People love to come to forums and complain for every little problem. Not saying there are not problems with the truck but you have to take them with a grain of salt. Also don't buy a 5.3L, get the 6.2L!

True. In the real world (not internet world), whenever I've asked any K2 owner if they liked their new truck, I have always received the same answer: "Love it!" I have never heard a negative comment except on forums.

Yup! I have zero problems and have not experienced any of the problems people complain about on this site.

I have had my 14 for over a year.

Okay, I forgot to say the paint isn't very good and scratches easily. However, we know all manufactures have crappy paint due to EPA requirements. I even have several layers of paint sealant on my truck.

Only paint jobs that are worth a dang these days from the factory; are from Harley Davidsons. Beautiful, thick paint.

Same here. Everybody I have spoken with, enjoy the heck out of their Sierra or Silverado.

My neighbor was the reason I bout mine. I thought his GMC was a good looking truck. He has had zero issues with his, and his was an early build. 5 months later, I bought mine.

I was just going to say the exact same thing. The first few times I was thinking someone would be ranting rage against the truck based on complaints you read about here. But hear none of it in person.

You have to remember while there are some issues, this forum pops up at the top of any search. So if a person has questions or complaints, it is more than likely to get posted here.

Not a Chevy guy and on the GMC side of things I will not consider until headlights and intelilink and HVAC are addressed, gonna run mine in hopes the 16's bring some changes, if not, I'm gonna trade it on a new ride for the wife and drive her grand Prix thru winter, then go south and find a nice 05/06/07 3/4ton for when I need to haul the boat

A friend that works in my office purchased a beautiful 2014 GMC about the same time I purchased mine. His doesn't vibrate either, but he hates the driveability of his truck amount as much as I do. He's considering trading backwards to a couple year old Duramax. He's also mentioned that his headlights are horrible. Remember, some people aren't as in tune with, or just don't care as much about throttle response and shift characteristics. My colleague is the only other person I know with a 2014, and he's ready to get out of his as soon as he can too. Remember, all of these people with bad reviews chose to spend their hard earned cash on a GM, not a Ford or Dodge. From the sounds of these owners' conversations with dealers, there are a lot of problem trucks out there. I'm guessing many of these owners don't bother to complain on a message board, so it can certainly go both ways.

Again, a test drive is definitely your friend.

I have a 2015 GMC, so far haven't noticed anything unusual with the headlights. For $250, anyone who doesn't like the headlights can get HID headlights and put the hate behind them, not a huge cost on vehicles that mainly cost $33-$50K.

As far as "a lot of people seem to have problems", compared to what? The tens of thousands they sell every month?

None of this makes any sense. If throttle response is the main issue, have it tuned by Black Bear or similar vendor. I know the obvious answer to that is warranty. But if looking at an older truck, warranty is negated anyway. Besides, if one is going from a half ton to a Dmax, then a larger truck may be required for the owners required use.

Am also reading throttle response complaints on the new F150's as well. We have to remember all mfg's are trying for max hp/torque while still trying to meet an ever raising bar set by the EPA for mpg & carbon footprint crap. Voters can change that, but that is a different discussion entirely.

You're right. The options are tuning and worrying about potential out of pocket costs on an unproven platform, or going with a proven platform in the Duramax that includes a year of warranty. He didn't necessarily need a Duramax - that's why he purchased the 5.3, but he's certainly considering it now.

I haven't driven the 2015 Ram or F150, so I can't comment on their throttle response. I'm not as concerned with the throttle pedal delay as I am in the way the transmission reacts to input. I agree that things are changing, but I'll be looking for the manufacturer that make the driving experience normal again.
