Would You Buy Again?

In a minute. This is a really great truck! Miles better than my '02 Silverado.

I might also add that I traded my '13 Silverado for this one. This is a MUCH better truck than my '13 was. Better in all areas... Suspension, appearance, ride quality, interior noise level, gas mileage, seats, dash, instrument panel, rear camera..... I could go on!

Already have bought again.

Had a 2014 4.3l LT Z71 Silverado with All Star pack and liner/tonneau/step tubes. No "problems" with it, only things I can honestly say I disliked were a. no external cooler for the transmission oil (and dealer I bought it from said they didn't advise adding one) b. between about 20mph and 40mph in Auto 4wd had some vibration in the gas pedal on acceleration, but not in 2wd (which I thought was strange) c. I'm 6'4" tall and stepping out over those step tubes was a pain. Slipped on ice twice doing so.

Bought a 2015 5.3l SLE Z71 Sierra with GMC version of All Star pack and liner/tonneau. (no step tubes, no vibration in Auto 4wd)

Have really enjoyed driving both the 4.3l and the 5.3l versions of this truck, and for me, the Auto 4wd is a deal maker/breaker. RAM and Ford won't see me in their showrooms until this is standard on their trucks as well. What are they going to offer me that will trump "safety"?

An aluminum body? A noisy diesel engine? Don't think so.

Tough to make the call yet but after 700 miles I would say yes. I have had no issues at all. Rides better, quieter and better gas mileage and more power than my 09 I traded off, and that's with the 6.2l motor. The headlights are my only complaint so far and it looks like they are working on a fix.

There's not a day that goes by that I don't wish I had my 2011 back. The new trucks are quiet and ride nice, but those are the only pluses for me. The infotainment is awkward at best, the transmission and engine management is worse than any vehicle that I've ever driven, and no, it doesn't get better after the truck "learns."

Luckily, my truck doesn't vibrate, but it has been stuck in 4x4 before. The heated seats aren't very good compared to past models, and my driver's side seat bottom has already quit working. For some reason this truck takes way longer to warm up than my other GM trucks. The A/C doesn't seem to cool as well as my last truck either. I've been very unimpressed with the way GM has been handling some of the issues with these trucks.

My advice is to drive your potential new ride in many different types of situations and speeds. If you think it drives and reacts the way it should, and there are no vibrations, then by all means go for it. If you enjoy the actual driving experience, and value your time that you will likely spend at the dealer fixng some of the issues that may arise, then I'd look elsewhere.

Good luck!

i would, and may buy again late 15 or early 2016, but thats going to depend on finances.

im extremely happy with my truck and only want to trade it in before i loose too much trade value.

if i do trade im going to be looking at one with more options. and i wouldnt mind crew cab reg box. im torn about the center console. when i was looking its something i really wanted but i couldnt find one with stealth grey and the center console so i just went for the jump seat.... i kid you no this has come in handy on more that 1 occasion.

5 drunk adults and 1 sober driver fit in this truck and its super easy for the driver to jump out and have the passenger slide across and take over. (which ive had to do a few times)

No I would not, Want my 05 back every time I get in my truck. Drivability is horrible.

No question about it, would absolutely buy another one. I have an early '14, so I bought it in '13, this is my second winter with it. Just love it! My previous truck, which I traded in on this one, was a '07 vortex max NBS. It had some engine issues, but GM was awesome about it.

General forever baby!

Yup! I have zero problems and have not experienced any of the problems people complain about on this site.

I have had my 14 for over a year.

Ya I would buy another one like the one I have. It hasn't given me any problems at all. The only thing I don't like about it is the 3.08 gears but I plan on changing that sometime in the future. The only problem I did have was the trans shifted a little hard at times, but after 1-2,000 miles it stopped completely. I got it last April and has over 9,800 miles on it.

I've had full size Chevy trucks ever since I had my license. I seem to always make a huge step up everytime and I've been happy with all of the trucks I've had. No my last truck (98 Z71) had a lot of issues but most of them were my fault from how I drove it and treated it so I can't blame it on the truck.

I'm on my second week with a '15 Sierra SLT A/T with a 5.3. It was a service loaner with 700 miles on it when I bought it. It's up to 1,600 miles now. The headlights are weak and the heated seats warm up...slowly. Even so, it drives great and I'd buy it again tomorrow.

Yes without a doubt. Have 23,xxx miles on mine and its not given me any trouble. My brother liked it so much he just bought his wife a 15 Yukon 6.2 Denali.

    • I am having similar issues.. 08, 4.8L granted I did had a fender bender and minor damage up front passenger side but I don’t think it had anything to do with it.. I had the high and low pressure checked and my fan for my radiator keeps coming on.. replaced the pressure switch and don’t want to keep throwing parts at it. I did have some minor problems here and there like on long road trips sometimes the ac would get a little warm and then on the highway as soon as I give it a little gas or get a little heavier on the petal it started running cooler. Never had an issue with the ac besides the here and there.. but I also started having issues when I fuel up now it takes a bit to start ( super embarrassing) it runs fine and once started ( only happens after fueling up) starts fine any other time. Could they be related?
    • Spent a small fortune on fuel this weekend.   $6.69 diesel, 18 gallons of that. $6.99 92-octane ethanol free, 10 gallons of that for yard machines $5.59 87-octane for one of the cars, 11 gallons.   $250+ and I didn't even get a tug.   Hormuz ain't Hormuzin again, did not see that coming...LOL
    • Appreciate the advice. I've watched multiple videos. Most showing the most complex for those that have a center console, to one that showed maybe 2 pieces of trim being removed, like 6 screws, pulling back the screen and switch assembly, and installing the inline module. And this was a new/newer Silverado. That didn't look too bad. All the others show alot of trim pieces that need to be removed. I've broken those kind of tabs/clips on my C8 Corvette trying to get to the battery, and that was a lot less clips than what I think is involved here after watching multiple videos and looking at my dash today. I have one on the way. Called a reputable stereo place about installing it and got a "minimum" price of $175. Ouch! Looking forward to seeing what the instructions have to say.
    • Hard to say what the issue might be. Anything from the ability to cool the AC condenser up front, to blend door issues in the HVAC unit, to refrigerant charge, to compressor issues or issues in the lines.   Report back what the techs find on the 29th.   GM has service publications which list acceptable vent temperatures and AC pressures at given ambient temps and humidity. They probably won't touch the system if it's operating within those ranges.   I'm also surprised to hear your 2024 with the L8T is still using R134a? I was pretty sure the HD's had switched to the new refrigerant around 2020.
