Would You Buy Again?

i dunno, if you compare the denali to others, nothing compares except maybe the platinum F150. If you're just looking at a SLE or LT I'd for sure be looking at Nissan/Toyota.

Be sure to check your fuel economy numbers before you consider either of those...especially the Nissan.

Your also talking about a board full of GM homers that will buy nothing else, regardless. But to say GM trucks are on top of a hill looking down at the others is a fallacy.

Quite the contrary...This board is filled with naysayers, crybabies and other brand trollers who nitpick and want the world for free.

Don't get me wrong, there are some good, decent member here too, but they're not nearly as vocal as the whiners.

Isn't that the way of the world these days?

Every truck/car will break down, sooner or later; the question is how good of a dealer you have and what they are willing to do about it for you.

My dealer gives me a loaner truck every time there is a recall that take more than an hour to complete. They actually offer to drop it off for me and deliver my truck once the work is completed.

I read about a few RAM EcoDiesel (unfortunate) owners who had to live without their trucks for 3-8 weeks and the dealer would put them in a Dodge Dart! Some guys had to rent pickup trucks out of their pocket for a month or two in order to keep their business running...not bashing the RAM (had 2 of them my self), however it comes to the dealer network support and what they are willing to do when your truck needs service.

Love my 2014 silverado!!! Best truck I've ever owned. Have bought GM trucks my whole life and have not had any major issues. Not one issue with the 2014. (Fingers crossed) if there is every a issue I believe that's what warranty is for???

Yep. I'd do it again, I might take a long hard look at '13 denalis though.

The way GM nickel and dimes you on parts on these trucks.. I've argued with the parts counter guys about 4 times now about how unreasonable their prices are. I coulda got a '13 denali 6.2 AWD for the SAME PRICE as my '14 BASE MODEL. I may not have had the latest model, but the gmt-900 denali is a beautiful truck and would run in the 32-34 range.. which is what I paid for my nothing-but-essentials 14. Now I'm being told stock 20" rims are $3600, and foglights are $900.. I'm finding cheaper ways but I would much prefer to go with GM parts if I can.. but at these prices.. I can't.

your also talking a 13 against a 14, the old 900 series is not on the same level as these new trucks. Id drive a single cab new model before id step foot back into a 900 series.

I guess I'm in the boat with the people that love this truck, not drinking the koolaid though. I just like all the new updates in it compared to recent years, love the looks. There's some things I might change about it but out of the big three it's the best for me. No problems either.

Find some takeoff wheels.

Try GMPartsDirect for the fog lamps.

Agree on most parts... but on the contrary there isn't much to talk about for things that do work well... those are boring topics.

I do find it comical hearing some of the extreme mods and $$$ associated that members pour into their pickups... like no other class of vehicle !

You should check out some of the ricer car forums! $10K in mods to a $3K car is not uncommon.

I'm not into 4 and 6 cylinder cars, but there's a difference between "ricer" and "tuner". A ricer will not put $10K into the car. A tuner doesn't have the over the top body kits but does real mods to the engine and car in general like suspension. A ricer will just make it "look fast" with ugly body kits and a Boeing 747 wing while not really doing anything to it performance wise other than an air intake kit and the annoying exhaust. There's some jap import cars that I actually like, especially when done right and tuners usually keep it clean looking. The Toyota Supra is one and part of the reason is because it's actually RWD. I've seen a few V8 Camaros, Mustangs, Chargers and so on even trucks that have been riced out, so it's not just 4 banger jap imports. Ricers also talk like their car is fast when it's not and some don't know a thing about cars.

My 2008 was a good truck but not my 2014. My A/C does not blow very cold and it did vibrate but they seemed to have fixed that. My rear diff makes a lot of noise at 40mph but the blown engine at 8k miles and GM's lack of customer service will force me to another brand

There is hardly any aftermarket update/modification that will financially justify its "investment" and create an added value to the truck's (short term) resale value. It only creates an instant gratification to its owner and the "wow" factor.

For the most part, people finance their vehicles and our lending institutions and insurance companies go by the KBB scale. If a vehicle/truck is priced over its "market" value there is no way a bank would finance it nor an insurance company would cover it. A set of 22" after market rims will not add $3k to the truck's value, at least not the way our bankers look at it.

Back in the day small VW diesel cars (TDI) where very desirable and their market values were way out of the line with the KBB values. Some die hard diesel guys would pay cash and then they would get burned when such a vehicle gets totaled (as the insurance companies paid out the KBB values).

The only company that to a point covers cars at the "agreed" value is Hagerty; however they only insure collector grade cars that are not to be used for daily transportation.

So a $3k riced out car with $10k worth of mods on it is worth maybe $3k when it gets totaled...
