Need your opinions on leveling

Hello, I am stuck between leveling my truck or keeping it with the rake. I currently have a 4" BDS lift and it has a little more than 1 1/2" of rake. Here's some pics to help u visualize the leveled picture is with a load of dirt in the back.post-137598-142465791418_thumb.jpg

On my previous truck I installed a leveling kit but kept the front end about a 1/2" lower compared to the rear. That way it basically looked level but didn't go nose up when I loaded up the bed. It worked great for me.

Thanks guys. What do you think about blacking out the chrome around the grille?

The grille would look good without the chrome, but I think you would need to "highlight" the GMC logo somehow. Too much black in my opinion.

And, I would leave the rake. Since you haul a lot, you benefit from riding level with a load in the back.

Level it out some, like said earlier, a half inch or so of rake would look nice. Leave the chrome, some might call it the accent/focal piece.

Try removing that O.E. small 1" metal spacer between your rear axle tube & the leaf spring pack. Easy free MOD.

Or does a 4" BDS lift kit remove these factory spacers and add their own 4" ones??

The BDS kit removes the factory spacer and replaces it with a 3" block. I'm going to try to switch to a 2" block and if that's not enough then down to a 1.5"

You can't tell the level with those pics. You need them taken from the side view. If you are blacking out the grill, do the surround as well.

Funny but almost every truck I have ever seen that has been 'levelled' looks like it is high in the front. I wouldn't do it....doens't look good on any truck.

Great looking truck either way! Personally I like em level. What size tire are you running?
