Diablo intune questions on setup

Just a quick note about Diablosports service. I contacted them after feeling I had an issue with the way their tune was running on my truck. They got me a custom tune right away after looking over my logs. Truck drives much nicer now.

They said they'd be releasing an update to the tunes asap and if anyone else is having the issue to contact them.

These guys are great.

Also they are pretty confident that using their tuner is not detectable by the dealer so I'm not too worried. I'm gonna continue to enjoy it.

I have run the diablo for the last year on my 14 6.2L. What issues were you having?

For me it originally ran great. They released new flex tunes for E85 and since I've been using E85 I switched to it. It seemed very sluggish and hesitated on up shifts compared to the previous Diablo tune. Several others in the E85 thread noticed the same thing so it seemed like possibly an issue with that canned tune so I reached out to them and like I said previously they got it fixed up asap.

Sugar... did you notice any increase in mileage after the tuner?

Nothing real noticable. I tow quite a bit so my mileage sucks most of the time anyway.

I bought the truck this past December, with only a few hundred miles on it I tried each of the different tunes for a week or so. I really didn't notice any real mileage difference with any of the tunes not even the mpg one. At around 1000 miles I switched over to E85 and my avg mpg went down about 14% from 15.3 to 13.2 over the next 3000 miles on E85 and using the Diablo tune. Living in MI with cold weather and 4x4 use this winter I don't have a good idea what I may average going forward. Although the weather has been warmer the past week and I now have a new Diablo flex tune on it that appears to have increased my mpg over the last few hundred miles by possibly ~1.5.

Edit: I also have larger heavier LT285/70R17 Toyo AT tires that's probably reduced my mpg a little.

the winter fuel mix is NOT helping either. e85 youll see an hp boost but a mileage decrease. i got real good mileage with the diablo tune i though on a trip from toledo, oh to detroit mi and that was 70+ mph my average when i got home was 22.3 on the diablo, mileage tune i saw zero gain but like you said it was below zero or close to zero.

Does anyone else have any experience with the diablewtunes? I want to tune the truck and lots of people rave about blackbear, but in my old Ford I had an Edge tuner that was custom tuned for 91 octane and performance and I loved it. So I was thinking about getting a Diablo but wanted it custom, so wondering if anyone else had any success.

Yes i just recently had my tune done by Lew. To me the the power is the same as the can tune but the feel with shifting is much better. So far it has gained about +1 mpg over can tune. I can tell you i felt a major difference in driving over stock. I also had a custom edge tune in my ford f150 and this custom tune woke up my truck way more than that gryphon did for my ford.

Awesome, thank you. I ordered the I-1000 since I don't want to see any gauges or visible tuning stuff like the T-1000. I didn't see any other difference than that.

Correct the intune is same as trinity minus the guages. I hope you like it. Put some miles on the can tune then send lew a log for the custom tune. You wont regret it.

go to diablewtune and get a custom one, it blows away anything stock on that device. i thought my intune was cool until i got a custom tune, then i realized i wasted time by not getting a custom tune and advise everyone in any vehicle to get a custom tune.

id say the intune gave me a 40% driveability increase and about the same in fun factor. with the custom tune i'd give it a 110% increase. its like driving a corvette in my 6.2

I am new to this tuning, so can I just get a custom tun right off the back or do I need to get the in-tune an d then get the custom tune?

Isriam worded his experience a lot better than i did but i would agree with everything he said. But to answer your question you will need to purchase the intune first. The intune is what reprograms your trucks computer. The custom tune is loaded to the intune then intune to truck. Visit diablewtune.com. Lots of helpful info. Hope this helps.
