New Sierra vs Garage

I haven't purchased the truck yet.

I know what the measurements say and I know what my tape measure says about my door but I still can't help but feel my door is too small. I guess I'm looking for that voice that says it won't be a problem. I know length won't be an issue, my garage is 32' long. I have attached width and height measurements of my door.

Mine is 84 x 106. I have about 3" on each side of the mirrors. You could always drive a truck into your garage as part of the test drive. That's what I did.

I have a 2014 Silverado, LT trim package, 2wd. It should fit. The mirror clearance will be close though. Just take a tape measure to the dealership and measure it there. Roll down the front windows and measure the width from the edge of the mirrors and between the cab and bed for hight.

Go to the dealer and test drive a truck, tell them you are taking it home and going to see if it fits in the garage, if they will not let you do this then find a new dealer.

You wont have any problem at all with a standard height and width truck.

My garage door opening, trim board to trim board is only 103" wide, and 83.5" high.

The truck is a 2014 Double Cab Z71, is 74" high, and the antenna is 80" high. So your antenna will not hit because the top of your door opening has square corners instead of some that have a 45 degree corner. As long as the bottom of your door is over 80" from the floor in the open position.

I have about 3" to spare on each side of the extended mirrors. I have been parking in that bay since September 2013, and never bumped a mirror. Just make sure you are square when you enter, go real slow when the mirrors are about to enter to make sure you are good, then keep the wheel straight as you pull in. When backing out, make sure you keep your wheel straight, go slow around the mirrors, and don't cut your wheel until the front of the truck is well clear of the opening.

Now, if you have someone driving your truck that has trouble with depth perception or is inexperienced, you might want to be concerned. The SLT, LTZ and higher trims have power folding mirrors. The SLE, LT and lower trims do not, with the exception of the SLE All Terrain.

You have plenty of room for your truck to fit, as long as you don't have a lift kit, or the Max Trailering Package Mirrors. The Max Trailering Package mirrors might fit fine, but look to stick out further than the standard mirrors. Maybe someone with those mirrors can give you that information, if needed?

I'm not sure if it's standard or optional, but power folding mirrors would help.

It won't be a problem. If you want you can roll the window down, and pull the mirror in if its not electric

I have a 9' wide x 7' high door. My 3500 Sierra 4x4 fits no problem with about 5 inches to spare with tow mirrors. I do not have to fold them in.

As the others have said, take it home and try it out. That'll help you figure out if you'll be comfortable long term with parking it in there regularly.

Hopefully this will help. Mine is 96" wide, same height.

I do have to fold a mirror in to make myself more comfortable while getting in there!! :-)

Everyone has been very helpful thank you. I think the fact that my door looks small is an optical illusion. I am comfortable it will fit now. Thanks!!

My garage is 84"x96"wide. I'm able to drive in with about an 1"-1.5" outside each mirror.
