We're starting out with a 2015 1500 Silverado Crew Cab in Sunset Orange Metallic. I am glad that we were able to find an orange one spec'd out pretty much exactly how we wanted it. It's an LT so it's not loaded up completely, but it's got what we were after.

Products that we'll be using on the build...

Zone 6.5" lift with Fox Coilovers, Fox Shocks in the rear, 1.5" body lift, AAL, upper control arms

UnderCover Elite LX

Bedrug

SwingCases

Gibson Performance Metal Mulisha system

K&N Blackhawk CAI

Diablosport Trinity Tuner with DiabLew custom tune

Mickey Thompson 37x12.50x20 Deegan 38's on 20x12 -44 offset Anthem Offroad Commanders

C4 Offroad 50", 30", IED underlighting, step bar lights, tailgate bar, wheel rings

Custom Headlights from Fastheadlights

Kleinn Train Horns

Memphis Car Audio subs, amps, speakers

Iron Cross Automotive HD steps and HD rear bumper with shackles

R1Concepts Logo Rotors and pads

MGP Caliper Covers

Wet Okole Burnt Orange and Black seat covers

sPOD Source with wireless controller

Optima Batteries

Air Design hood scoop, bumper cover, flares, floormats, tailgate applique

Stainless Show Works radiator cover

I ordered a set of the new style tow mirrors that will be color matched. I also ordered a factory black grille shell that we'll be removing the black mesh and adding the rivet style inserts in.

I'll get some pics up of the truck and I'll try to keep this updated as we install each product.

3dCarbon's line for trucks will be branded as Air Design :)

Ah gottcha, I wish they had a website live so I could check out those fender flares and front bumper.

As soon as I get them/get info on them, I'll let you know. This literally is just getting going. I would imagine it will be a little while before they have all the info out to the public.

I'm pretty anxious to see the floor mats as well. They're gonna be pretty cool.

Lies!!! I found there website. The problem is that AirDesign is based in Mexico so there website is ".com.mx" and wasn't showing up on google because of that. Try this link for the catalog with your truck parts in it and this is the main site.

Lol...not lies. The last I had spoken to them, they told me that they were tweaking all of the tooling to get ready for production. They also said that they didn't have any pricing info or anything yet, because I wanted to post more info. :)

I tried opening those links and neither will open.

That is a cool touch. They have an all new mounting system also. Haven't heard much about it but it's supposed to be pretty amazing.

Here are the links I was talking about. They will probably take a little while today depending on your ISP since they are hosted outside of the US.

http://www.airdesign.com.mx/- link to main page

http://superrim.com/catalogue.php- link to catalog (may have to click pickups and trucks link first on the website then open the catalog)

Edit: To be honest with you I wouldn't be too excited about the floor mats, they great but are lacking coverage like my Weatherbeaters. I do however like the metal foot rest embedded into the floor mats. This AirDesign though looks to be on the up and up, I hope there build quality matches the creativity.

We will be installing the Kleinn Automotive Air Horns HK8 train horns and onboard air system on Solaris. Going to be cool to have enough air to fill up after airing down on the beach :)

    • That makes sense, and I think you are describing the real product problem. Capturing data is the easy part. If the owner or technician has to manually dig through five minutes of millisecond-level logs, the product has already failed. The device would be at the ECM harness, not at the OBD port, so I agree that data retrieval and event marking need to be thought through carefully. The way I am thinking about the architecture is: The recorder itself should not depend on a phone, app, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or cloud connection to capture the event. It should always keep a local rolling buffer and lock the event locally. A button, phone app, or small cabin device would only act as an event marker. If the driver feels a stumble and presses the button 10–30 seconds later, the pre-buffer has to already contain the useful data. For data retrieval, the practical options would be a sealed service USB lead, Wi-Fi download, or a phone/cabin companion device. I would not expect the owner to remove the ECM-side module or work with raw files directly. The cloud or AI side would be for interpretation, not for capturing the event. The truck may have no connection when the issue happens, so the evidence has to be saved locally first. After that, cloud processing could help decode the data, compare it against baselines, and generate a readable report. For the first version, I would keep the automatic triggers conservative and objective: driver event marker bus-off error passive voltage drop / brownout device reset FIFO or queue overflow a normally periodic message disappearing side-to-side communication mismatch, if the topology supports that For “learning normal,” I agree with your point, but I would not want to overclaim it as automatic root-cause diagnosis at first. A realistic first step would be learned baseline comparison for that specific vehicle and operating condition. For example, a value would only be compared against similar conditions: RPM range load / MAP throttle position gear / vehicle speed coolant and oil temperature battery voltage AFM/DFM state, if decoded and validated Then the report could flag things like: this periodic message disappeared compared with its normal timing this value deviated from this vehicle’s normal range under similar conditions the same abnormal pattern repeated after the same type of event the anomaly occurred together with voltage, oil-pressure, misfire, or communication changes But I would still call that “abnormal pattern detected,” not “replace this part,” unless there is enough validated repair data behind it. So the intended product would not be “here is a huge log.” It would need to be an event package: what triggered the capture how much pre/post data was preserved what changed before and after the event whether the device itself reset, overflowed, or saw a bus error selected graphs around the event raw data only as supporting evidence From your perspective, what would make this kind of report useful instead of just another datalog? For example: What are the top 5 parameters or events you would want highlighted first? Would you trust a learned baseline for that specific vehicle, or would you prefer fixed thresholds? How much false-positive flagging would be acceptable before you stopped looking at the reports? What would a one-page report need to show for an independent shop to take it seriously? For misfire, AFM/DFM, oil pressure, or U-code complaints, what would you want the tool to flag automatically?
