Mastercraft and Cooper are both made by Cooper if that helps.

The BFG's cost way more than the Coopers if that tells you anything.

Yea I knew about the two being the same company I see the difference in tread didn't know if one was better than the other.. I got a quote for the bfgs they seem like the perfect tire but if others are comparable and I can save some money than that is the route I'll go I also was checking out the general grabber at2 since that is basically the same tread pattern and winter rated

Cooper ATP is awesome in the snow. It's a discount tire exclusive, but cheaper than everything listed.

Is the original KO on par with the KO2?

This not going to help you, but I really liked the last set of General Grabber AT2's. They wore slowly, not noisy, and had the mountain/snowflake winter rating, and we're good in snow and ice. The Sierra I just got into came with Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's, in the new p (or euro as it may be) load rating. These are supposed to be brilliant in the snow/ice, and are suprizingly quiet and smooth in the dry, and look great. Unless these wear out quickly, I'll be buying them again.

I did want the duratracs but I keep reading issues of them wearing out quickly they won't balance right quite a bit either I can't say I've had experience just what I read I do love the way they look and read they are amazing in snow

The Duratrac's I'm running are OEM equipment on the 2015 Silverado midnight, and are well balanced, no shakes. Wear, well, that's left to be seen.

TOYO Open Country AT2's. I use to run BFG All Terrains on every truck I owned, but I found the tread to wear quick and I would end up replacing them around 40,000 miles of use. Then I tried the TOYO's and never looked back, plus the TOYO's have a 60,000 mile pro rated warranty unlike the BFG's.
