I would also like to see GM offer an "attractive" Baja-style competitor to the Raptor with a 6.2L engine. I'm not a Ford guy, but have to admit that they did a really good job with the Raptor. If I had stupid money, I would buy one as a 2nd truck. If GM made one, they could call it the Baja 500 or something snazzy like that.

I would also like to see GM re-release the Silverado SS with a 6.2L super-charged engine, but much more evil-looking than the previous one. It should have a classic Hot Rod look with a working hood scoop, CAI, after market exhaust, and nice factory tune.

I'd like to see both of these but if they were going to do something, they could only really do one, no? I think right now would be a raptor fighter but if they went SS, they would be more unique and could fill a somewhat empty niche.

Ok, im sure ill get bashed for this, but i personally like to see the steering wheel radio controls moved to the front of the wheel and have flappy paddle gear shifters put in their place, instead of a button on the end of the column

Maybe an XL stripper crew cab but not one anyone wants to own. It's been proven Ford was full of shit with the weight savings. Last test car and driver did they were within 300 lbs.

They can be up to 500lbs depending. 300lbs maybe doesn't seem like a lot, but 300lbs is quite a bit when you factor in performance and MPG over years of driving. If your talking speed or track terms, 300lbs is 3/10 of a second, which is a lot. a 500lb drop off your own personal best and being lighter by the competition by 300 is pretty good feat.

That one tenth per 100 lbs at the strip is a myth. And I seriously doubt 300 lbs will add up to a significant fuel savings. Especially since the Ecoboost engines don't do that great in economy in the real world.

I think the Baja-style truck would be more work, as it would require more change to the body and more suspension work. The SS would use existing body and suspension design with some added drop in options.

Plus 100000000 on a real Silverado SS. I am surprised they still haven't made one yet. Dodge had the SRT10 and Ford had(s) the lightning/raptor. Chevy doesn't have anything remotely close.

Maybe because they don't see a need with their sales success this year? Or maybe that is something they have planned for 2017-18 or so, the year before a new design comes out?

Whatever you say. A 300lbs savings is nothing to scoff at. And real world I owned one and it did better than my now 14 Silverado.

And a tenth for every 100 lbs isn't a myth its an estimate, a lot of factors, but they say for every 100lbs dropped you can gain an 1-2% MPG increase. So minimum you gain 3% over the life or up to 6%, and if you lose 500lbs like ford says that's could be a 10% increase over the life. Not a huge game changer, but a truck that could save 5-10% on fuel, be a quarter second faster and allow you haul more just by changing material make up, I think that's something to look at a little.

Silverado SS, reg cab, 6.2L w/TVS1900 or 2300, 8 speed, tuned shocks and sway bars, 305 tires all 4 corners, lowered 2/4. A double cab or crew cab option as well, but I'd love to see a 6.2 in a limited availability regular cab.

Yup, unfortunately there's probably a reason (sales) that Ford and Dodge are out of the sport truck market. It may make more sense to enter the Raptor market segment. You get a bad @ss truck, but still have utility. I don't know what the sales figures are, but I see tons of them.
