Because I plan on buying a truck in 2016. I don't want a 2015. This is today, and the current and future versions of their cars have been warranty reduced.

Why would it not bother someone having their warranty reduced by 40%?

 

What does that say about the company claiming they are doing this for better market competition while increasing vehicle cost, all the while continuing to offer inferior low definition touchscreens, thin leather(and vinyl on premium slt), chrome everything,... I could go on, and it is sad GM has gotten this miserably far behind vs the competition, as well as consumer expectations.

 

The truth is that GM has not been producing these DI engines for very long, certainly not long enough to convince me that these engines are superior in durability to the last versions, while reducing warranty.

 

Look at what GM has done to valued customers over the last few years with updates that should be simple to retro engineer, yet if customers are interested in these features they have to purchase a new truck. Android Auto and Apple Play, last gen OnStar app support to name a few.

 

They market All Terrain tires for these pickups that are not even decent highway tires. They quit putting Z71 4x4 so mall crawlers could feel like they belonged to the fan club. They have these things riding so low that climbing a curb risks damaging the Aluminum skid plates(ha), Did I mention the 1950s chrome everywhere? Headlights that aren't as functional as damn lawnmower headlights, more vehicle buybacks than I have ever heard of. All of these things and the others I mentioned before, and so many more.

 

The current bunch of engineers are obviously people who have never needed a Pickup for what it's function actually is, work and ruggedness. These hipsters should all be sent back to work on the Volt. What a damn shame!

 

Because in all honesty the amount of people that exceed that current 5/60 is pretty small and those that do are usually used for business which they would probably have other means to cover the warranty or have it covered by the company. To few it is a big deal, to most it is a non factor.

 

Mall crawlers, is that the pot calling the kettle black? You want a car like dash and luxury car do dads.

 

Some people like chrome, they have models that don't if you don't. Stop thinking what you want is what everyone else wants in terms of style, design and features. The AT tires (if you are in that bitching thread) are called AT by goodyear and accomplish what most people need them for (street driving) and what the engineers needed; just because they don't fit your image of looking tough or at the slim chance actual uses then buy something more...

 

My headlights work great. Buybacks really, I am sure you are a great indicator on the actual amount to trucks produced (which is way down in the tenths of a decimal percent and most likely in line with other brands. Have you checked out the 15 F150 complaints lately?)

 

Not sure why you are here if all you are going to do it whine and complain?

 

An off road competitor like the Raptor but no gray plastic flares and bumpers like the Raptor or Rebel. It would be nice as a suspension option package you could get on an SLE, SLT or All Terrain trim. Don't make it a separate trim level like the raptor and ram rebel. I hate the interiors of the raptor and rebel with the colored dash pieces and weird colors on the seats. I want my SLT but with a factory lift that is engineered to ride and perform with the stabilitrack and other nannies. GM needs to one up the Raptor and Rebel why not use the magnetic shock technology and develop an Off Road remote reservoir Magnetic ride coilover.

 

No need, just slap them on a off road trim with out changing anything, it isn't like they would actually be used off road so no durability problems would arise since they will just be used for suburban duty. Why go to the expense of remote reservoir magnetic ride shocks that aren't needed? Would just increase the costs of the trucks that are already high.

 

A damn front facing camera would be nice that maybe comes on at speeds below 5 mph for parking, rear seat vents and as mentioned above a Tri zone AC, ditch the BS chrome door handles and cheap WalMart door trim, better optional gearing, more rear seat leg room, better quality leather, Chevy desperately needs some decent looking factory wheels.

 

Make an AT that is actually an AT or rename it an RT(road Terrain) to be truthful, get some decent looking decals because the current ones are awful, make the Tahoe interior the LTZ interior, ...

 

GM you are doing a horrible job on the new trucks. The sheer volume of buy backs over the last few years, not to mention headlight probs, drive line noises, and recalls makes me wonder why anyone would actually consider buying a current model.

 

PS...still very pissed about the warranty reduction!

You sound like a broken record, same complaints as listed above. Do you have nothing new to complain about?

 

GM is doing a great job on these trucks, much improved to the last gen. Restyled and updated in much shorter spans. Winning comparison tests and praises from magazines and reviewers. Sales are going up as are ATP's (have to seen the gains they have made on Ford?). Most of the quality issues of the last truck have been addressed (interior quality, features, toughness in which they even gave them stronger axles and disc brakes, more power, better mpg, the list goes on).

 

Better looking decals, really? Sounds like you want a CUV since you want a car like dash. Do you drive over 15k a year? Most people don't, they average 12-15k, so the warranty as noted above isn't a concern for most. Ram and Ford both have 5/60k warranties as well. You sound like a person that will never be satisfied and that sucks, it is Christmas; stop being a grinch.

Most everything has been mentioned and are great ideas I would like to see easier modified head unit to be able to over ride the factory lock outs and be able to watch video, rear camera, DVD, etc. basically full control over my 8" screen. I now there a company that will pretty much do all that for us for $1000-1500.

Console gear shifter or know selectable instead of column

 

Defiantly fully retractable rear window

 

At least driver and passenger auto up/down Windows

 

Power outlet in the bed. ---I did t even realize that I didn't have a power outlet in the bed or back (prong style) till after I bought the truck. I have a crew cab SLT AND WAS VERY SHOCKED THERE WERE NOT ANY REAR VENTS OR PRONG STYLE POWER OUTLETS

Turbo charged v6, more aggressive appearance packages (instead of custom sport chrome packages id like to see more color matched parts and black or dark gray rim options more aggressive tires etc) better looking decals, ditch the dumb z71 emblems on the grille, and most important a front end that looks nothing like the 2016 silverado.

As stated already I would like push button start like on my 2013 corvette

 

So long as it can be overridden by the key. Had one of those in a Jeep and it stopped working for "key fob not present". Had to have it towed to the dealership where they replace some receiver module.

I'm not aware of any ignition override available on the wife's button start impala.

 

There is an override for the the presence sensing door lock (in case of a dead battery).
