Future of GM Trucks

Now with the 16's rolling on out I'm sure there are options that GM doesn't have that some of you want.

My question is simply what would you want GM to do differently in the future? or what options would you like to have that we don't have now?

I personally would love to see an Offroad worthy, gas guzzling, Raptor/Rebel Rival. IF not at least some better tires on these awesome trucks. SRA's just flat out don't cut it for me.

Push button start would be pretty cool and Auto up/down windows all the way around the truck would be nice.

I agree with the Offroad addition. Even if they take the route of the Ram Rebel which is nothing compared to a Raptor. I would like to see what GM is really capable of when It comes to a bad ass offroad monster. Other than that, I guess it would be good for them to get caught up with the most common tech like you mentioned and maybe rear vents for the crew cabs.

The push button start and auto up/down on all windows would be nice but I'm fine without either also.

I would like option that leaves the backup camera on when in drive. This would be useful while driving if you have something large in bed of truck blocking view of rear view mirror. The side mirrors work in this case but the camera would also be nice.

This isn't a new option but a change in one. We have an LT with the front bench type seating. I would prefer the storage under the middle seat section be a pull out drawer instead of opening from the top. If you have drinks, etc. in the fold down arm rest/console, you have to move them and flip up the arm rest to access the storage.

I'd like a third option for the rear window ........

Solid Glass

Power sliding glass

Full retractable rear window (like the Tundra)

  • Heated rear seats

Flat floor and room in rear like Ford

Rear vents (my 2003 had them, so why does my 2008 not, and the 2016 I'm about to purchase not?)

All of the tech options that the other manufacturers already have such as panoramic sun roof, 360 degree camera, etc.

Push Button Start (GM already has this so why in the world is it not an option?)

Higher quality interior (too much plastic, too much silver plastic)

More options like the other manufacturers (i.e. Ford's extensive options/package list)

User upgradable Navigation/MyLink instead of having to take it to the dealer

Etc.

It sounds like you want a Ford. With regards to:

  • Higher quality interior (too much plastic, too much silver plastic)

You just need to buy a Sierra. Real aluminium and soft touch materials.

That's the issue, I DON'T want a Ford. I want a GM truck with the options that Ford has. I hate their trucks, but the massive amount of options they have trumps what GM offers for sure; there's no denying that. I do have a 2016 Sierra Denali on order, so I am getting the aluminum and "soft touch" plastic, but GM needs to up their game in some areas for sure.

Hell I'd be happy if they just made the damn skid plates on the Z71 metal instead of plastic.........

I would like 4 wheel steering, a 10 speed transmission, and an aluminum body.

Push Button Start and Smart Keyless Entry, Adaptive Cruise Control, 360 Degree Camera, Heated and Ventilated Rear Seats, Max Trailering Package available on Denali and High Country.

Timer off of cargo and box lights

You mean user selectable timer? They go off on their own after 20 min.

Battery Power Protection

This feature shuts off the dome and

reading lamps, if they are left on for

more than 10 minutes after the

ignition is turned off. The cargo

lamp shuts off after 20 minutes. This

prevents the battery from

running down.
