6.2 burnout

Been keeping my out on this guy to see if he posts more videos.. haven't looked in a while and my goodness. That is just a great rolling bunout

I know this is going to come off as negative, and I don't mean it to be, but what is the point of this? Maybe it's just the old guy in me, but I sincerely don't get it. When I watch things like this, all I can think of is, "man he's destroying his tires and leaving black marks all over the road!" I guess I've never owned vehicles to be flashy, if that's what this is.

 

But in all honesty, I just want to understand the appeal. Is it just a "cool" factor? Is it something that is challenging for the driver or vehicle to even do? Does it somehow reflect on performance of the vehicle? All serious questions and not meant to be degrading. Certainly, to each his own. I'm sure there will be many who appreciate this more than I do.

Because I truly want to understand. Not trying to be a downer at all. Maybe I just won't get it, and that's fine. My comment was not to put anything down, and I apologize if it came off that way. I have a 6.2L on the way in about two weeks, and I look forward to seeing what it can do. I've just never attempted anything like what's in the video,

Have you even done a burnout? Not necessarily as large or extravagant as that one but just a good 'ol fashion burn out? Or better yet have you ever done a donut?

 

While I don't do them anymore because, I have matured a little, but mainly because I will get in a lot of trouble with my job if I get caught, but it sure is fun as hell to do. When I was younger my buddies and I would take our Camaros and ummm what are those crappy cars that is named after some kind of unicorn or something? I forget what they are called (lol) and we would go to a empty parking lot and do some donuts and burnouts!

 

Yes it definitely waste tires, but the cool / fun factor out-weights that sometimes. Same could be said as mudding or racing. Both activities tear up your vehicle but it sure is fun to do. I guess it's not for everyone but I sure as heck had fun doing it and have no regrets; still wish I could still do it every now and then.

No, I haven't, so I guess that's why I have no context. If there is a fun factor involved, that's cool. That's what I wanted to know. Like I said, I wasn't trying to rain on anyone's parade.

Love muscle car/hot rod burn outs and have done a few amateur(make that very amateur) ones myself. I just don't get fascination with turning a truck into a muscle car.

If I had the loot to afford a 2nd muscle car/truck, then I would probably do some occasional burnouts for fun. But not on my daily driver.
