About to install AMP Powersteps....any tips or pointers?

Installed today. Took 4.5 hours. Solo job and took my time. Really impressed with the quality of this product.

 

The instructions were kind of weird, jumped around a bit, left out some stuff, etc. For those that installed these, what part of the back door did you line up the rear end of the steps with? The bottom where it starts to curve? The most rear part of the door midway up? etc.

Mine are lined up with the rear straight vertical edge of the door. I used a tape measure extended down to the ground as my guide.

+1 to lining up rear step edge wih vertical edge of door.

 

I also used just one of the aftermarket LED strips placed at the rear of the front door edge. Two of them would land a fighter jet on aircraft carrier at night in the Pacific in 15' swells.

Installed the AMP powersteps this weekend. Took about 3 hours and I also added to COB LED's that were recommended in this thread ?? HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE!!

I want to install white LED lights for my Amps but don't want anything as bright as the ones shown in the thread. Looking for about the same light output as the Amp lights. Any suggestions?

One tip that I can pass along is to not place the LED's directly between, and even with, the black plastic plugs. If you do that, the steps do not cover them when they are in the closed position. It would seem that they could be damaged by rocks, road grime, etc. I originally had them there, but unstuck them and moved them more inward towards the step in the panel. they are now covered when the steps are up.

I second this haha anyone have any ideas? I want one strip that runs the length of the steps and is white
