Fox 2.0 arrived today!

Got them back today. Fresh in the box, anyone want to buy them at a discount? Decided to go the other way and lower it with some 22's or 24's. Never off-roading it anyway, just like having 4x4.

Damn Teedub, while i like both lifted and lowered trucks, im just blown away by the fact the FOX setup nightmare youve been going thru (ive been tuned in the whole time, and feel bad for u buddy) has left such a bad taste in your mouth, that it made u go away from lifting altogether. That sucks man. Talk about not only loosing a customer, but turning u away from lifting completely. Terrible job on Fox's part

Yeah, I was on the fence about lowering (i'll never off road this truck) until I saw pictures of another forum member's 4x4 All Terrain that was lowered 2/3.5 on 22's and it looks pretty sweet. I wasn't sure I could lower it enough to satisfy me, but I think it can look very good. 2/3.5 won't harm the axle or driveline angles and will still ride stock. Regret spending $1000 on the Fox stuff. Also a bit miffed that they sent my coil overs back but also told me after the first of the year they hope to have a fix for the "issue". So what the **** then? I will have to remove them again and pay to ship them back to get their faulty design fixed under warranty? I wish they'd just said, hey, can we keep these until after the first and we'll return them with the new updates installed.

 

Oh well. I'l either sell them the way they sit (with literally 3 miles on them) or sit on them until they come up with a fix, ship them back to Fox again, then sell them.

Sorry you didn't have a good experience with Fox. They have a reputation as a leader in this field. The Fox website shows this coilover assembly as 0"-2" ride height. I think your truck was on the path to 0" with the coil overs out of the box, once it settled. While that falls within the simple information on their site, Fox should be more clear about what a customer can expect from their product.

Fernando emailed me back first thing Monday morning, said engineers are working the revision, sent me a service tag and they are paying for the shipping. Told me to ship after the new year since they will be closed till the 4th. So far, Fox customer service has been great.

 

TeeDub, what was the fix they did to your coil overs? Adjusted preload? What is the measurement now on exposed threads on the lower end? Well sorry you had to go through the same situation, good luck on the sale, and looking forward to seeing pics of your truck on 22s or 24s.

Their fix was to add 1/2" more preload. So now 2.5" of threads exposed. Like I said wish they'd just kept them and applied the revisions so I don't have to ship them back.

T-dub, a 1/2" more should be approx 1" of lift or right in the middle of their website info.

Well out of the box they had 1/2" of lift so now they should be at 1.5".

 

Probably just going to sell them and not reinstall.

I was looking to purchase a set of Fox 2.0 but after reading this thread I'm not sold any longer, do you know what their revision was going to be? Will there be a new part number?

 

Fyi, I also have Aluminum CA.

I just got off the phone with Fox, apparently there is a steel tab above the control arm on all Aluminum armed trucks to limit the upward travel. (This tab isn't present on the Steel arm trucks)

 

This is the reason that they need to make a shorter shock and you don't get the lift like a steel CA truck, no matter how much you crank them the CA will hit the tab and limit the travel and lift.

 

An option is to just cut the tab off when installing and buying the Fox 2.0's that are meant for the steel arms, problem solved. They stated that as long as you stay within the 2" level range there wouldn't be an issue but if you continue to crank past that you'll wear the ball joints way faster.
