Weathertech- Not having a good experience.

I have had the weathertech mats in all my vehicles along with the stone/bug deflectors. Never had any issues.

No issues with Weathertechs in any of my vehicles

Neither did I prior to 2013 when comparing for my 2014. The Husky's are just so much better fitting and looking. I caught a lot of flack from the Weathertech fanboys, but nobody is going to change my mind, and surely not Weathertech. I will not be going back, and it looks like several others will not be either. Husky got it right on the 2014+, Weathertech not so much. It's no contest, and only Weathertech can change that. They know they lost on this one, and so does anyone else that has compared them side-by-side.

Husky WeatherBeater fit great and no issues. Little bends from folding of rear settled out pretty quick, fronts perfect out of the box.

Weather tech no drill splash guards I had no issues. 4 screws in front that are pre-existing. Rears used 2 pre-existing screws and the twist lock on fender. Have to really watch that fender part it's easy to do it wrong and not catch fender. Hours at 80-90mph and didn't budge.

I have Husky WeatherBeater for over two years and they have been great. Just put them in and forget about them.

Glad to hear Husky is good because I just ordered the Husky Gearbox under backseat storage. As far as the mats I will stick to weathertech until they act up and then they are getting spanked and thrown out. :nopity:

I have a set of weathertech's in my 2015, and just installed a set in my brother-in-law's 2014. Both fit great with no issues

Id like to see a set of weathertechs that dont curl in the corners like the OP's. Every picture Ive seen posted do the exact same thing.

Something that costs that much should fit perfect!

I needed to replace a read cab door visor that I broke trying install them on my 14 Silverado. I contacted Weather Tech and they would help me, but instead told me to go thru the dealer I bought them from...

Weather Tech products are good, IMO, but their customer service people are the reason I may never spend another dime on a Weather Tech product. :nonod:

Are those the weatherbeaters or the X-Act front liners?

Those are the weatherbeaters. X-Act look a little different.

I just replaced the Aries 3D's with these Exact Fit mats. The coverage isn't as extensive but they wear like iron. They have a textured surface and no ridges to hang up on. The 3D's lasted about 1 1/2 years before wearing a hole where I rest my right heel.

I'm setting in my truck in the passenger side, headed to a hunt in AZ and I just checked my Weathertechs. Same distortion. My old truck had Husky Classic liners with the diamond plate pattern all across. They were the best mats I've had.

I agree, I have those Husky "Classics" in my truck right now. Looks just like the day I bought them 10 years ago! I have the complete Weathertech in my Traverse, and I must say they do fit perfectly. And the rear mat can hold 1/2 a gallon of milk WITHOUT spilling onto the carpet. Don't ask me how I know this......

I ordered the weatherbeaters without full coverage in the back seat... I did it in a hurry. Thinking about calling them and seeing if I can return and order the X-Act front and full coverage back seat.

    • I find it amusing the OP doesn’t realize this threads heading includes several engines. He should have posted in the off topic section if he wanted a more narrow focus. I really appreciate and find amusing that he actually pointed out one of my many vehicles. The Odyssey. That happens to use 0-20 oil. I love pushing his buttons.
    • Maybe, but it seems he is the only one that has backed up data to prove what he is stating. I think he is doing this more because he enjoys it and wants to get the information out to us. He's got the knowledge and access to the proper equipment and having the funds doesn't hurt.  I would love to do what he is doing and would do it if and when I hit the Powerball.  I'm not a Tribologist by any means but love to learn what I can.   I would bet there would be doubting people out there if a completely independent lab with high quality work and highly respected in the automotive industry, put out information like this.  The world can't be pleased, one just has to take the information that they are given, do more of their own research to find actual lab data to back up what they are trying to figure/find out.  Most don't bother, they just want to believe what they first see.     I don't have the minimax but my 6.2 in my 2019 Silverado with 64k miles shows excellent UOA results with 0w-20 and for my own purposes 5w-20.  Since not much of a change using 5w. I liked the data sheet information on the SS 5w-20 and figured I would give it a try.  Still the same viscosity at 100℃.   In the end we all just do what makes us happy, life is too short to get upset over trivial social media.   On a side note, I do feel GM has dropped the ball and just cares about the bottom dollar and not quality anymore.  "Like a Rock" has been long gone.  Seems "Built Ford Tough" has as well.
    • Better than stock but that's like putting lipstick on a pig
    • Hello, my 3 month old Sierra Elevation wont recognize a trailer with electric brakes? All the lights work correctly, but no power to the brakes?   This is the factory installed brake controller. If you manually push the knob, the display shows the power % but does not light up like my 2022 silverado.   I have an appointment with the dealer, but was checking to see if anyone else has seen this issue.    Thanks,
    • Been using SS 0w-20 from new, but wanted to change to the 5w-20 because I liked the data on the data sheet, to me it seems like a little better product. But as you can see, not much difference. This is also with running a mix of 10 gallons E85 to a tank topped with 93. It isn't a flex fuel vehicle so any higher I get a CEL for running lean on both banks. Yes my mileage takes a hit. Instead of 20 mpg I normally get on trips I get 17mpg. This is also using EaO17 filter.  What is amazing is I have the AMSOIL cone filter on it since I have the GM Performance intake installed and that air filter has 44k miles on it.  I just take it out and shop vac it off once a year.  I use the upholstery tool on my shop vac.  Works well.
