So I called General Motors back because I haven't heard anything for two weeks leave a message again finally get a return call in the afternoon apparently the dealership they put the block on and the district manager is not giving them the information they need to determine why the block was put on initially she told me if it was up to her she would lift it for me but only the dealership or the district manager can do that she has no power to do it because they are they are not the ones who physically seen the truck since the dealership is the one who looked at it they are the only ones who can put it on and remove it he apologize for taking so long if he doesn't hear back from them soon she will escalate it but I'm thinking that needs done now I've waited long enough with the dealership not giving her the information she needs that should tell her that they are goofy so again when I hear some news I will post an update

So another update

Gm finally got ahold of area manager and was told when my local dealer submitted to gm the form for repairs gm goes over the form and based on that form and the info on it they make a decision to approve or deny repairs under warranty. Now I don't know exactly what was on the form but based on that info they denied the repair and inserted the block. So only the warranty administration can remove the block. The dealer has no power to do it. The lady at gm I was dealing with said she asked if the lift kit had anything to do with the block and was told no. She was told that the exhaust which is a gm exhaust and the oil filter did play a part in the block. I was told by an attorney that I was not obligated to use a gm oil filter. And I don't believe the area rep wasn't aware that the exhaust was a gm one. She said there was a list of other codes related to the block which I have the codes but no definitions of what they mean. So I'm still stuck I've been consulting with an attorney about my options and she feels that as long as the oil filter didn't cause any issues and the exhaust wasn't altered she has a good case against gm and the dealer I bought it from. Can anyone possibly point me in direction where I could get definitions of the codes? Thanks

Will you post the codes?

From http://texags.com/forums/46/topics/1885453regarding a sedan:

"Each repair task or part is assigned a labor op code. For instance, in powertrain codes, K ops are for transmission, J ops are for engine, and T ops are for unique bulletin procedures such as recalls"

So there is more than one restriction on there. Are you sure the vehicle wasn't salvaged in anyway? Did you get a carfax or carcheck when you purchased the vehicle? Where did the original dealership you bought it from get the truck?

It's interesting that there is this huge block and that for a month now you don't have a straight answer. Keep pushing with the lawyer. Unfortunately until you can nail down the reason for the blocks you are giving away your money and time.

On the other half of your sheet does it have the brand information and title number?

Set the truck on fire and drive it through the dealers door. Then collect insurance [emoji1360]

I bought this from a stand alone used car dealer would the carfax Def tell me if it was wrecked or whatever? Only if it was reported would they know this correct? Toy knowledge it wasn't in any type of incident.

They are really saying the exhaust and oil filter are to blame? I can understand the oil filter argument, but an exhaust? LOL

http://www.carfax.com/company/vhr-data-sources

"CARFAX® receives data from more than 92,000 different sources including every U.S. and Canadian provincial motor vehicle agency plus many police and fire departments, collision repair facilities, auto auctions, and more.

The CARFAX database is the most comprehensive vehicle history database in North America, containing over 15 billion records. Records included in each CARFAX Report reveal important information about a car's history, such as an odometer reading, existence of a branded title such as a salvage/junk title, or past registration as a fleet vehicle. A CARFAX Report may not include every event in a vehicle's history, but will include the data that is reported to CARFAX for a specific vehicle identification number (VIN)."

I bought a used Tahoe once and the carfax had a small fender bender that was reported by one of the local police stations and not the facility that repaired it. If you didn't get one, it wouldn't hurt to ask for one now. Could be used against the selling dealership if they didn't disclose some information to you.

What does the title part of the warranty labor code say?

A car fax would show if it has a salvage title or if it had ever had a REPORTED accident. Have you informed the original seller of your problems and if you did what did they say? I also believe buy backs which as we know have happened for several people here on this website alone are not covered under original warranty from what i remember hearing and that might be the case here.

If I remember there was a carfax and it didn't show anything that I recall. Truck was originally sold new in Ohio at the dealership it's sitting at now. They sold it to a customer in Arkansas along with a corvette. They only had it for around a year I believe it may have been repossessed due to non payment and it made its way back up near ohio and was bought at auction by the stand alone dealer who I bought it from.

I will obtain a carfax again to be sure on my part I did a cheaper one that runs the vin# but nothing showed up on that one but it's not as detailed.
