Depending on the size you get, you can get either with white letters, or black wall.

Cool thanks!

If you have experience with mild AT tires how would you compare the goodyears against the stock sra or say a nitto terra grappler?

Sorry, only experience i have is with the stock Bridgestone Dueler H/T 255/70/17 that came with the truck. by the way, in comparison to the stock bridgestones, the Goodyears were far superior in dry, wet and handling. Big improvement. Just sayin'

I used to run BF all terrains ( about 6 sets of them) but after having an issue with a set and loosing wheel weights ( long story) , I tried Nitto all terrains. They were the shittiest AT tire I have ever run. Then I tried Duratracs and they are the best AT tire I have ever run. BF's were good but the duratracs are even better in the mud and snow. On my half ton I just put a second set on at 83,000 km or so and I could have easily run them until 90k but I wanted a new set for winter. I run ten plies at 41 psi on my half ton. i know guys running them on 3/4 tons too that get good mileage out of them ( I also have them on my 3/4 ton but don't put many miles on it) a lot of the oilfield trucks here run them to the point that they are backordered sometimes accross the province.

As far as noise, they are slightly louder than a highway tire but no where near as bad as a set of mud terrains. ( I tried those once too and won't ever again)

Hope this helps.

I've had my LT/E 275/7018 DuraTrac's on my truck for roughly 13,xxx miles. I'll echo what others have said, it's one of the best tires I've ever run. I probably didn't need 10ply/E-Rated but its a nice added protection and peace of mind driving around NYC/rolling curbs/bottles/potholes. They are getting progressively louder as they wear, but nothing I can't deal with and the wear is very even. They've performed as expected, if not better, in all the snow we had last week and sand and mud. I'd certainly put them at the top of the list when it comes time for new rubber.

*** I actually ended up with DuraTrac's after a ton of research (including tire rack). The final push was noticing that every single FDNY 2500HD truck was outfitted with them during winter. If they are good enough for NY's Bravest, they are good enough for me!

Good to hear.

I was leaning toward the KO2's as well but I read that they are much heavier than stock, and since GM is going to be adding these to more trucks with addition of the Sierra X or whatever its called, I figured this would be a better option.

A little hum doesn't bother me.

Has anyone been able to get them with the white letters out? I love the white letters out look.

FYI - the BFG KO2's and these Duratracs weigh exactly the same in 275/65r20 - 57 lbs, most of the AT tires are in this weight range in that size.

I had a set of these on my FJ Cruiser (285/70/17) and they were fantastic tires. I think they are the tire to beat if you're looking for something that looks a bit aggressive, rides well and wears well. They are pretty quiet too, much more so than the BFG AT's I had before, I found they got really noisy as they aged. If you live somewhere like I do and it snow, you'll be happy with their ice and snow performance as well. They have the snowflake designation so you might be able to get a discount on your insurance for having winter tires (I got a 5% discount) without having to buy a second set. Once my current tires wear out, I'll be getting some Duratracs for my truck.

My experience with Goodyear brand tires has been the oem tires, nothing to convince me to buy more.

That is horrible reasoning. OEM are usually cheaper than their top of the line tires, do you base an entire brands performance off some of their lowest offerings? Kind of like saying, oh, I would never buy a loaded Chevy truck or Corvette because the Chevy Spark is rubbish. Ya, they don't compare at all...

I'll echo what others have said. It's a great tire.

Have had mine for about 70,000 km and still have a good bit of life left. They work great in Mud & snow. They are louder than stock but for how aggressive they are it isn't too bad. They do seem to be getting a little louder as they wear but still WAY quieter than a Mud tire.

I run about 42 psi and found they wear the best at that pressure. The only down side is fuel mileage has dropped from stock by a few mpg

So much good info. Thank you again to all who have commented.

I had 2 sets on a 2014 2500 Chevy Crew Duramax. They were really nice tires. I like the look and the ride, and they hold a load well IMO. These are also stable at 100 mph in my experience, which says something about the construction of a tire this aggressive.

Having had several sets of both mud tires and all Terrains over the years, I can say they are not loud for the amount of voids and size of tread blocks. However, these are not your stock tires, and they will be quietest on day one and grow increasingly louder, but not mud tire loud.

Mine seemed to go about 50,000 miles more or less. I will say that in the diesel they wore fastest from 15,000 or so to the 35,000 mile mark, from which the wear slowed alot, but the noise rose.

Awesome rim protection pocket and nice sidewall grooves. They may be a little soft, but they are not flat happy as others I have ran.

I love these tires but have since swapped back to a set of BFG KO2s and Grappler G2s on my 2 current trucks. I bought one that had the G2s on it from dealer, but I like them alot so far.

They are also rattlesnake proof, if that is important to you!

    • Thanks, so being a different beast altogether, anyone know what the "optimal" temp is for the 10L80/90 for proper shifting?
    • How many years have I pointed out every point in that link to the folks here and been avalanched with criticisms and outright hostilities at times? I ran counter to even the great CUSTOMBOSS and Lake Speed Jr and the half dozen experts on YouTube and in the final.....GM, Physics (Stribeck) backs that Grumpy old Bear.    Honestly, I never said a thing engineering hadn't studied silly and laid in concrete during WWII. But I'm old, the information is old and yet, the Laws of Physics are eternal.    Okay there is one exception. I vehemently disagree with their use of the word 'tolerances' when what it meant is "clearance".   The clearance is the distance between two objects. The tolerance is the degree of acceptable variation permitted in that clearance. I.E., piston to bore clearance is 0.004" with a tolerance of +/- .0002" so the clearance is in specification if it lies between 0.0038" and 0.0042". Cutting that 'tolerance in half has ZERO impact on lubrication requirements. Makes for more difficulty in manufacturing.  But a tighter clearance 'MAY'. Depends on finish. Anyway....   It's one of those statements made by people to make themselves look smarter than they are to convince people who are as un-enlighten as they seem to manipulate their behaviors. But hey, the blind leading the blind puts them both in the pit.
    • Out and about yesterday on a long Saturday drive I passed a lot of Shell stations. My preferred, so I pay attention. Lot's of small town Illinois so not six stations in three blocks like the city.    Everyone of them over a radius of say 100 miles had regular at $4.19 but one which was the one closest to home at $4.15. However Premium pricing varied greatly between 85 cents over regular to $1.50 over. I'm not counting the price of the station with the lowest regular so the reference is the same for the remainder and all within the same brand. However the spread discrepancy holds across all brands.     @txab, any thoughts on that?
    • What are your thoughts? The Chevy Blazer relaunch was an epic case of 'lunchbag letdown'. Jeep Wranglers and Ford Broncos stick out like a sore thumb.    The AI photos do not look like a 'retro version', but shrunken Tahoes. Get away from the 'futuristic look'. I've seen two concepts. One had rectangular headlight like a Rivian and the other way to big should include dual round headlights like the early version.   If not this would look OK   At least it has GM styling (albeit the K2XX) A lot of the images floating around look like Bronco IIs or the current Bronco. Looking at the Broncos in my area (central Ontario, it seems to be a mix of 2 doors and 4 doors, 'mall rated' to ones that could go offroad.    I'm sure a AT4 and AT4X RPOs could be outfitted similar to a Rubicon if the braintrust understood the whole offroad scene. Crosing my fingers that if it does see the light that the front air dam/bumper doesn't extend below the center line of the tire...
