That is horrible reasoning. OEM are usually cheaper than their top of the line tires, do you base an entire brands performance off some of their lowest offerings? Kind of like saying, oh, I would never buy a loaded Chevy truck or Corvette because the Chevy Spark is rubbish. Ya, they don't compare at all...

I think it's better reasoning than having a poor experience with a manufacturer and instead of switching to one I've had good results with I instead give them more money on a more expensive item hoping it works better.

If you have experience with mild AT tires how would you compare the goodyears against the stock sra or say a nitto terra grappler?

Currently I've only got 3k miles on my Duratracs, but so far I love them. Although, when I first bought the truck it had a vibration at 75mph on test drive. I took it back to the dealer after 400 miles and they had it two weeks and put 8 brand new tires on before they could get it perfect. 2500 miles later and it rides perfect. They're really quiet for the type of tire, the ride is very similar to the loaner Tahoe they gave me, although you can tell there's a slight increase in rolling resistance.

My last truck (2007 dodge ram) had 275/65r20 terra's on it and they still had plenty of life left with 30k on them. They were a hair quieter than the Duratracs but not by much. Honestly, the most notable sound level I get from the Dura's is at 50 mph. At highway speeds it sounds just like any other tire, which is nice. Offroad performance with the Dura's is also noticeably better IMO.

If I were you, I'd go DuraTracs, just make sure you get a good set. Like I said, they put on 8 new tires at the dealer before the truck didn't have any vibrations. Road Force balancer and all new shop equipment as well.

I was surprised how well they do on ice as that's all the roads where this morning and the truck behaved all the way into work and that includes passing the old 2wd Ford Ranger. As this jerk only goes down the back road when the roads are bad so he can drive like a JERK..

Hopefully some of you are still around for this. Also looking at getting these as they were recommended by a good friend of mine. I alone was considering terra grapplers but now scrambling the site n reading reviews i hear theyre not the greatest AND i need something that can handle anow and ice really well being in Montana with around 5 months of winter.

I have 285/60R20 in my sights from discounttire.

By cance could you guys post pics of your trucks with these tires (sizes too) and w/e wheels u have

I can't post pictures here anymore as the site always says they are too big now but I will tell you that I have had duratracs on three trucks including my 3/4 ton and I would not buy anything else. I had Nitto Teragrapplers once and will never buy them again. The new BFG would be the only tire I would try but I will stick with Duratracs. A lot of the oilfield trucks run them up here and they are often on back order because of the demand. I live in Alberta so we have the same weather.

33s on my 100% stock 15. Love em, snow performance is incredible over stock. You do hear em, but I like the noise and MPG was hardly impacted.

Duratracs are great. They'll get louder towards the end of life as the tread wears. I used to run BFG KO's but switched to GY because they seem to do better in snow. They seem to clean out and bite better. Also made in USA.

Brandon - Any rubbing on the 33" front tires with stock suspension? What size are you running?

I was thinking of going from my stock 275/55R20 (32") to the 275/60R20 (33").

According to TireRack the 275/60R20 weighs 1 pound less than the 275/55R20.

Make sure you're comparing same load tires, the LT tires are usually quite a bit heavier than the P tires in same sizes.

I see now on the Chevy website build page you can get the duratrac MT factory installed . I believe they are 265/65R18. This the same tire everyone on here is running ?
