Sounds like OP didn't do basic research.

For what it's worth, my LT came with cloth seats. I had them swapped before delivery for Katzkin's. I marvel every day at how comfortable and supportive they are, not to mention higher quality leather than OE. Would drive it anywhere (if the milage weren't so bad, that is!).

I did the research....I just needed the 2500 HD to two a large boat. These are not the same seats found in the 1500 LT Z71 as noted on the window sticker. Either way it does not matter. Its going for new seats--or maybe I'll send it thru the auction when I find one I like better.

I have had over 20 Chevy and GM trucks, and my point was that this "LT" model is basically a WORK truck with Carpet, and I covered it completely with WeatherTech mats.... So if you want a nicer or higher quality truck--don't get the LT. Get a work truck and get a set if take off wheels and its the same as this "LT".

And to let people know the seats are shitty. That's all friend 06032

There are different LT trim levels -- you can get an LT, 1LT, or 2LT. The 2LT comes with power seats which are slightly different (and better!) than the base LT. Just because it's an "LT" doesn't tell you all the options.

P.S. -- it's the same with LTZ trim, there are additional levels ...

My WT has a backup camera (personally, I swapped it out for an EBay one) and my seats are fine, according to my rear. They are utilitarian, but work just fine. I will say, I dont think the lower bolsters are going to last.

But buying a WT will get you the SAME seat your low optioned LT has. So no, buying the WT would put you lower than your LT. Buy a correctly optioned truck next time before you drop $$$$ on it and then hate it.

That's a lot of money to not know exactly what you're getting. I hope it works out for you.

I agree. Before buying a new truck, it's important to know exactly what you're getting. The OP really DIDN'T do his research. There are lots of options in the LT trim. OP, I hope you find a good solution. Live and learn.

Seems there is a bit of confusion here.... I'm letting others know what an " LT" really is.... A shitty truck option. Don't waste the money. Buy a work truck and add a set of take offs-- and you have the same truck. I bought and paid for it...don't care...so quit saying a need to do home work.

I have tinted the windows, added steps, back up camera, new foam in the seats and added a set of fog lights.

My only goal was just to let those looking at getting an "LT" it's the same thing as the work truck.

Thanks for the others input.

I'd throw in that most LT trucks at dealers are optioned with power seats, backup camera, etc. I went through two rounds of research on trucks over the past couple years and can't really recall seeing any LT trucks without the backup camera.

I understand that there is an LT trim without those goodies, but most dealers probably order the mid-level LT trims with power etc.

To broadly state that LT is just a work truck doesn't seem fair.

Yeah, have to agree that just throwing a blanket statement out there that all LTs are crap just isn't a fair assessment. The LT line has several various trim packages within its line, and that has been discussed.

My LT is very well equipped, with comfortable 8-way power seats.

What does new foam in the seat mean? Did you pay to have the seats refoamed? Is it better?

Correct.

I ordered the WT option, saved $10k and got exactly what I wanted. I'm not paying $10k for leather seats, aluminum wheels, cheesy a$$ed running boards, chromed plastic(I don't like chrome) and a bunch of gadgets. And the WT isn't stripped down either. Cloth seats, power everything, AC, Remote keyless entry, 7" screen with camera and Android Auto, tint, roof lights, and best of all.... drum roll please....... vinyl flooring!!!

I think what he is trying to say is that a 1LT which is what he has, and is the lowest optioned LT trim doesn't offer much more compared to the WT trim, and i think that's mostly a correct statement. Now if we're comparing a 2LT to a WT then that's a different story. Basically it boils down to what options you want as to what trim level suits you better.
