2017 Silverado 2500HD news

I have been watching the news from The Chicago Auto Show, hoping there would be some mention from Chevy about any changes planned for the 2017 HD. I'm really interested in any possible changes to the gas engine offerings. I guess it's just too early in the year.

2017 vincard info suggests we will see the same gas engine (L96 and LC8) in 2017 HD's.

Yeah it will look like a 1500. I am not in love with how mine looks up front but, the HID's sure work great.

I'm sure they'll update the styling, but it can't be an exact copy of the 1500 just because the front end is a little bigger. The facelift on the 1500 is nice because the lighting is improved, but the chrome grill surround now has an odd shape. It's especially noticeable on the fenders between the upper and lower headlight array, where there is a chrome or body-painted triangular shape. Overall, it's not bad, but it's a shame because the 2014-2015 1500s and the 2015+ 2500s were, in my opinion, the first time a Silverado looked good since 2002. The 2016+ 1500 took a small step back.

if you look closely at the new silverado commercial where they talk about "which truck got best in class etc..." and they roll up the three garage doors on the last door you can the new front end on the 2017 Silverado HD for a split second..and it has the same front end as the 2016 1500 except obviously bigger...im trying to see if i can find a screen shot...i think this is the new HD if not it may just be a 1500 with tow mirrors but the grill looks larger in comparison

Does not look bigger to me. Looks like a 1500 with tow mirrors. It's also labeled "6.2" above the picture.

Rumor is 2017 sierra / Silverado HD debut or at least info at 2016 Texas state fair September 26 - October 18

I hope we hear something sooner than September. They tell me the deadline for ordering a 2016 is the end of June. If there are no big changes coming, i'll just order a 16.

We know something new is coming based off of the several photo's showing the trucks being tested pulling trailers with the hoods covered up. I'm surprised they haven't released a mid-year 2016..which leads me to believe they will be 2017's. At this point I could see the early 2017's being unchanged with a transitioning to the updated versions later in the year. But this is just my opinion.

2017 production starts 10/17 for crew cab, 10/24 for double and regular cab. Ordering opens end of August. They have from now until August to show their hand.
