Even a H rated tire can blow up. For several reasons, other than speed.
That would be the least of my concerns driving a truck faster than 160 km/h (100mph).

A truck is not designed to drive at high speeds. Simple as that.
Brakes, suspension, aerodynamic (especially for cross winds) are all factors coming into play.

Did you ever wonder what it feels like to go 200km/h (125mph) and have to do an emergency stop? It takes a looong time to slow down. Try it.

Or going that speed and getting hit by a wind gust?

Or hitting a street bump or pothole?

I don't know about American highways but here in Canada the highways are like a back alley in Berlin....if you know what I mean.

And frankly, from what I can read here in the forum and what I see on the road, I'm glad that they govern the trucks.

Carpooling with my coworker with the Corolla today and he got up to 105. The challenge has been upped! :(

I wish there was a way to remove the governor without reflashing the ECM so that I could keep the powertrain warranty intact.

I have an "S" rated tire on my truck that came from the factory. I have the 20" Continental CrossContact LX20 tires. Can't wait to go to an A/T tire once it's time.

At 100, having to mash the brakes or even trying to do an emergency maneuver would be horrible in these trucks. The steering and suspension are so numb that you could easily over correct yourself into an accident or worse. If you want to go fast, buy a sporty car or one designed to go triple digits.

Friend to Friend, I'm a quadriplegic today because we pushed a tire beyond its limits in a old Camaro. Don't get me wrong I'm not hating I have plans to lower, supercharge, remove governor, and upgrade my driveshaft in my 2014 6.2L to push my truck harder but I have a healthy respect for tire speed ratings. It only takes one bad day to change your life. I'm a huge advocate for safety, Be fast as hell, but be safe!

Too be honest, I never cared for the top speed on anything especially a truck since you have 0 reason to need any vehicle that's not an actual race vehicle to go up to 90 or 95. The only reason I even say that high is because I know there's places where speed limits on the interstate is 80 I think so you need more speed to pass, especially when most people (including me) automatically go 5 over. Here in NC and VA the fastest speed limit I've seen is 70 on the interstate so I've never taken any truck above 85 while passing. I've only tested to see where the governer is set once on this '14 and my last truck just out of curiosity and did that on a back road. When I first got my '98 back in '04 I was 18 and stupid so I tested that governer out on I-95, but the '14 I did it on a country back road where it's rarely any traffic.
