Check engine light

My check engine started flashing today while I was driving. Was driving up a gradual hill with the cruise set at 58 mph. Caught it out of the corner of my eye, flashed for about 1 minute then went away. All gauges were normal, no loss in power, everything seemed normal. Idles fine, checked all plug wires (seem fine). Checked for codes and nothing. Should I be worried? Truck is a 2015 sierra 1500 with about 14,400 miles.

Did you check the engine?

In what way? I checked for any obvious signs of anything.

Use a code reader, see of anything was triggered and saved. you can get them cheap at local shop or get a bluetooth one that you can do so much more.

I checked for codes with my tuner. Hopefully it was just a fluke. I'll see how it goes today.

Flashing service engine light is the code for misfire being detected by the ECM.

Usually when it begins to flash it is a severe misfire. If it was flashing then you should have been able to feel the engine vibrate a little bit seeing how it was running at least one cylinder short.

Didnt feel any vibration at all. Everything felt normal. I guess I'll see how things go.

Misfire events typically are stored in the ECM as a P0300 or so depending on the bank the misfire was detected on.

Would my diablo intune pick up a good? Thats what I tried yesterday and it said nothing found. Drove normal this afternoon.

And some codes are automatically cleared if they do not repeat within a certain number of engine cycles.
