Red an article the other day regarding the new upcoming ecoboost. Ford looks to have taken the Toyota route regarding direct injection and is adding a port injector coupled with a direct injector.

I commend them for recognizing the issue and doing something about it, but I am still not a fan of the engine as a whole. But this and valve train updates may solve mileage, misfiring and other problems that plagued the Ecoboost in the past.

I am puzzled why the bumped it to 450 lb-ft and not just matched what was in the Lincoln Navigator which was 460 lb-ft.

Maybe I'm too stubborn. Or too old school.

Although those numbers are impressive, it still makes me cringe when I think that it comes out of 3.5L displacement of a gas engine...

Well credit to Ford for trying to improve on stupidity I suppose. (my opinion)
