I took my D500 and 16-80 f2.8-4 on my vacation to London and Ireland. I'm really pleased with the low light noise improvements over the 7100. Color saturation and rendition is also a big leap ahead.

I've been shooting Nikon for many years now.

I got the D500 for Christmas and I couldn't be happier. Along with that I have my trusty D300 that I've had for a long time.

Lenses are 18-70, 55-200 VR, 50 1.8, 105 2.8 micro, 300 f4.

Flash is Nissin di866

I have an Olympus TG-3 point and shoot for those times I really don't wish to put the expensive stuff in harm's way, like rafting for example.

A couple of Impact studio lamps for when I want to do some indoor stuff such as food or product photography.

A couple of manfrotto tripods/heads. And a couple of Clikelite backpacks.

Canon "fan-boy" for years. Currently using a 5D Mark III, and more lenses than I care to list.

 

Just picked up my "new-to-me" 2015 Silverado crew cab 4x4 LTZ. Time to introduce it to my camera!! :cool:

Seeing as how the wife is the one taking more photos that myself, she wanted a better point and shoot. Nikon B500 fit the bill and she loves it and was in her price range of what she wanted to pay.

2 years ago or so, I sold off all my Canon gear and went with the Fuji line. Just as nice, if not better in a smaller package. The only thing I don't like is shooting sports.......the lag is horrible. When you are tracking a player, shoot some action and then try to pause and shoot another shot......too much lag. With the Canon you could lift off a shot and go right back at it. But my youngest daughter just graduated from high school so sadly no more sports to shoot.

 

Fuji XT-1 w/ grip (2nd battery)

10-24 F/4

50-140 F/2.8

18-55 F/2.8

 

Fuji is nice because they update the firmware, improving functions, adding functions, etc.

I remember reading this thread when it was first posted but for some reason I never actually posted in it..

 

I'm using Nikon gear

D750 with grip and battery

Back up is a D7000 grip and battery combo here too

24-70 2.8

70-200 2.8

2x's teleconverter turning my 200 into a 400mm

Nikon D3200. Three lenses, the one it came with 18-55mm, Nikon 35mm, and a Tamron 70-300mm.

I have the Nikon D3200 usually paired with my Sigma 18-250. I'll swap them with my Nikon 50mm f1.8 and my Tamron 70-200 2.8.

This first picture is in the Guinness brewery in Dublin. It was a bit darker than it looks in the picture. The blue is from their actual blue lighting.

 

ISO 3200 f2.8 1/30 +1.0 stops handheld No post processing other than size reduction

 

The second is in a dark forest on a rainy day. I chose this to show the low noise of dark areas.

ISO 1000 f5 1/100 -1.3 stops handheld No post processing other than size reduction

my 13th year.. hobby only.

 

 

I got these ospreys over hampden maine, from quite a distance.

you could use a faster shutter for the aircraft. I like those shots.

      I'd consider the 5.3 but not the 6.2. Last I heard, investigations were ongoing with the 6.2 failures and that there were continued failures even after engines were replaced.   I have a 3.0 diesel and regard it as the best option for a 1500. It's an excellent engine. Your preferences may differ.   Ford makes a good truck. Wouldn't steer you away from one.

      Yeah I don’t leave ANYTHING just sitting supposedly maintaining my battery on a vehicle or RV for multiday periods. I connect a charger as needed to provide a full charge, then disconnect it and either monitor the battery or follow a set schedule for periodic charging.

      Get the 5.3. I`m not a Ford guy.😉   I think these L84`s are less problematic than the L83`s. Certainly less than the L87.

      I have finally paid off my mortgage and can now purchase a new truck. I would greatly appreciate any opinions on the purchase of a new 2026 GMC Denali 5.3L or 6.2L with the Denali reserve package. I am not interested in the 3.0L.  Or should I go buy a Ford?   Thank, John

      One of the few things I enjoyed about my time in the midwest was taking off on weekend drives. Unlike home, where we are boxed in by mountains and water, those rules don't apply to the inland plains. Roads connect and sprawl everywhere. While Minnesota is flat, it's not completely featureless and there are fast moving rural roads with curves and slight elevation changes. I used to relish heading out in a particular direction with no set destination, no curfew, and weaving through little townships, wherever the roads would take me. Along farms, lakes, or through the deciduous trees... It was beautiful in its own way, and the seasons were so distinct there. Fall drives yielded amazing shows of color and contrast. Summer drives rewarded with the and amber evening glow of the prairie (and lots of juicy bugs).    I do a lot of that here in my home state too. But it's much less mysterious/intriguing. I've traveled most roads in the region, and every road that's fun to drive within a good radius of my house. But every drive, even on the same old roads, is still enjoyable. I know where I can lean hard into the throttle or really throw the car into a curve. There are exercise loops for when I just need to keep certain cars limber, and much longer routes to settle in and enjoy a drive and put some miles on. All the mountains and water make for some really awesome roads for spirited driving. But not all my driving is spirited, for example, that's not really enjoyable in my pickup or this Blazer (that's still here...).   Sometimes a good drive is followed by a ritualistic wash before tucking the car away...
