You didn't have an opportunity? Amazing. Every dealership I've ever even looked at a car or truck on has offered to let me take it over night if I wanted. Again amazing

No, a majority of buyers won't have that opportunity, and they also assume that technology on new vehicles improves every year. Quit acting like we shouldn't expect headlights at least as good as previous generations of trucks.

If you have a valid license or form of ID and a good credit rating, there is no reason why they shouldn't test ride a vehicle overnight to see how the interior and exterior lights work, to have the wife look at it and check out the color, and how it fits in the garage. I've done it many times at many different dealers using those magnetic or trunk mount dealer plates.

Once I even called the dealership manager who had a vehicle and equipment I liked in inventory, offering the low ball price I had worked out (wrong color) at another dealership. Said I would buy it if they were agreeable to the price, rollout plus tax, but since there was no trade and I didn't wish to inconvenience my wife or son to drive there or waste gas....to have a salesman pick me up at my house so we could see the vehicle and then drive me back to complete the paper work. No problem, they picked me up an hour later and returned to the dealer to we close the deal on the Camaro.....even went down another $100 plus free branded all weather mats on the deal.

If a dealer is not wishing to extend himself for a motivated customer........ they shouldn't be selling vehicles .........and that is not where one should be buying a vehicle

Once I told them I was considering driving it into a container and it would be on its way to Brazil by nightfall. They said not a big problem if I did......just two phone calls one to the police and the other to their insurance company to collect the value of the vehicle which was likely more than I would be willing to pay for it anyway, and without the hassle of me breaking their chops for the lowest price.

My dealer tried to get me to take home a new Yukon Denali for the weekend when we were looking to replace our older Yukon. I told them no thank you because I knew my wife would want it.

I got lucky. My wife test drove a new Tahoe to replace her 07 ltz Tahoe. She didn't think it was worth the extra 20 grand over what her sticker price was on the 07. Now she wants a Jeep.

My wife ended up in a new Colorado. I didn't want a second truck, but it was $30k cheaper than a Yukon!

More often than not, I've had to turn down offers to take a test drive unit home overnight...

Don't feed the 12-post troll.

Awe speaking of me I suppose. I dont need to be fed, I'm already chubby enough. I just hate hypocrisy. For the most part I dont see a need to comment on all these wonderful threads but this one gets me. You all carry on as you normally would - I"m sure there will be another thread next year where you are griping about the price of trucks increasing. Maybe you can look back at this one and remember why.
