Sure thing. Show us how they turned out with some photos when you're finished.

Kinda mad/envious that you did this before me. I've had my eye on those Winjet headlights. Already have the glossed black tail lights. I trying to make my truck look as unique as I can. This won't stop me. I have a change I'll be doing when I get them >:D

Hey guys,

I'm at a loss for which lights to upgrade to. I've narrowed it down to..

Winjet

https://www.amazon.com/Winjet-WJ10-0382C-04-Projector-Headlight-Illuminating/dp/B01A14ZOR8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482433299&sr=8-1&keywords=winjet+2014+silverado+headlights

Spyder

https://www.amazon.com/Spyder-Auto-PRO-YD-CS14-LBDRL-BK-Silverado-Projector/dp/B00OGWTXQ0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482433224&sr=8-1&keywords=PRO-YD-CS14-LBDRL-BK

SPECD

https://www.amazon.com/Spec-D-Tuning-2LHP-SIV14JM-TM-Silverado-Headlights/dp/B01DMSUIUI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482434452&sr=8-1&keywords=2LHP-SIV14JM-TM

I'm a bit confused on the HID kits though. I was messaging the rep for autoanything and he said if I do a HID conversion it will melt the plastic housing where the light exits and he sent me a picture of that. Will that happen to all 3 of these? Or is one brand better equipped for the HID conversion? Sorry I'm a noob with the lighting lingo but install won't be a problem. Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I plan on purchasing soon...

My vote is for the Winjets but......don't buy the Winjets from Amazon, they lie and say they're in stock. I've been waiting for mine since end of November. They did send one headlight but they said they dunno where the other was so they said they were shipping out a second set one day shipping and THAT was on December 3rd. Now I'm in a battle to try and get my money back.

I am no expert but I have the Anzo headlights with the Morimoto Elite 35watt HID system and have had no problems what so ever. I would think that you would be fine with a good HID system at 35watts. I know another member here had HID's in the winjets then did morimoto Mini H1projector swap and he has not any any problems with that as well. Make sure you buy the correct bulbs for the after market headlights as they are all different than the stock bulb size. Some use H7 low beam, some use H1 for low beam. So do not order bulbs until you know which headlights you are going to buy.

Thanks for the feedback! I do like the Winjet as well and I think Amazon might of had the best price. Did you buy them from the Winjet on Amazon or another seller?

I like the Anzo set but am I gaining anything for the extra 150? I know the SpecD turn signal is all LED the other sets I can't be certain and since it doesn't say outright that it's an LED turn signal it's making me think that they're not. I can get the SpecD for 315$ and the Spyder and Winjet for 350$ and the Anzo for $450. I 100% want to do the HID kit but not right away since it will be another 150$ for the kit. Are the 50$ kits all over Amazon total crap? Is there an advantage of H1 over H7?

Well the problem with the SpecD is that you can not replace the leds if they go bad as they are an LED board. All of the other brands come with standard halogen bulbs but you can change them to LED's like I did. Another thing to consider is that the specD uses H1 bulbs which are not as bright as H7 or H11 bulbs. That is why they cost less!

The SpecD also does not have the Headlight trim which some people like, I am on the other side of the camp that really like the headlight trim and thinks it does not look correct without it. This is why I also did not get the Recon or specD headlights.

Another differense that you get what you pay is ease of installation.

The Anzo are plug and play - no wire tapping or load resisters to wire.

The Winjets you have to tap a wire for the light bar to work.

With the SpecD you have to tap a wire for the light bar and wire in load resistors.

Excellent info, I really appreciate it! Ok so I'm ruling out the SpecD. Anzo are an Extra 100$ over the Spyder and the Winjet. Sounds like Winjet needs extra work. Any info on the Spyders you have heard. I haven't found a lot of info on them or videos on youtube with them installed. I do like the Anzo. I'm going to reach out to autoanything and see if they can get me a better deal. I mean 100$ more is a reach don't you think? Where did you order yours from? I also have a local guy selling Winjet tail lights for cheap so I will be picking those up but I'm not worrying about matching the headlights because they don't match to begin with. My long term plan is to either dip my grill or paint it black. I'd love a Trex but they're ridiculously priced. So I'm getting the black version of any one of these headlights to match the black front end I plan on doing...So the chrome housing is not a big deal for me...

This is the best price I can find...I think I might pull the trigger...

Hold that thought...You see the Amazon reviews for these? Oh man...Paint wearing off, lights not working, not adjusted well out of box etc...yikes!

    • The curb weight on a 1 ton crew cab long bed is around 7k lbs.  Now, I don't know where you went to school but 9k is not more than 2x 7k lbs. More than 2x 7k lbs would be 14k+.   With that said, obviously yes you're going to feel a 9k lb trailer when slowing down.  I already said, when accelerating.  When changing lanes?  No.  But if you look at the context of what was quoted, the original person said, "after a mile or two..." which means that would be after the accelerating portion and you're driving a generally steady pace.  Please do learn to read and comprehend.
    • So I purchased the Range unit for my 2026 and I am seeing different locations suggested for the ECM . Can anyone confirm wither under hood, left side or right side or behind the wheelwell?
    • Like I've said before. Di and Carbon buildup is not that big of a concern. Engine had minimal buildup, and that engine was obviously not super well maintained. Do regular oil changes, and you're gtg as long as the rest of the truck lasts. Also, the High Pressure FP that people ****** about, but can't tell you why.  Now, I wish they'd trash the variable oil pump. No real world issues with them, but I'll gladly eat whatever miniscule MPG it's saving me in favor of more oil at all RPMs.    Curious to see his assessment of the 7.3 compared to the 6.6. I expect he'll praise the port inj, but from a structural standpoint, the 6.6 is as robust as any engine out there.    Not to take away from the 7.3. I feel it's equally as good as the 6.6.     As to heat on the rear cyls, I'd have to see numerous examples before I'd say it's an issue. Especially not knowing the history of that engine. For all is known, they could have blown a rad hose, and ran it hot, and the 2 rear cyls may be the first to get hot in a low coolant situation, but not be an issue aside from that.
    • "Life is getting back to normal."    I'm driving again and all new joints are operating as expected for this stage of recovery.   My most recent joint replacement still requires a lot of attention but experience has taught me that time will quiet the remaining pain.  I joked with my surgeon that another joint replacement would take my mind off my most recent surgery and he responded by saying the next will be a hip!  There are no plans for another surgery but, unlike me, I don't think he was joking!  I certainly wouldn't refuse further replacement  if required but hope to spend time out of the "post-op"  period.  I can't stress enough that if you have been recommended for total hip, knee or shoulder replacement that you welcome the offer.  Post-op "recovery" may sound daunting and painful, however, this is far better than the insidious erosion of mobility you are currently experiencing.  Imagine what it would feel like to wake up most mornings feeling better and more mobile than you did the previous day!  Prior to my first surgery in June 2025, even getting out of bed was becoming a formidable task.  Since the day after my first surgery, I get out of bed everyday easily and unassisted.  Making the switch to feeling a little better each day rather than a little worse, is hugely motivating!
