Catch Can @ 30K

They benefit non-GDI motors as well. The intake on my Firebird (LS1) was saturated on the inside after 24k miles. Installed a can when I swapped cams and would drain some every oil change. The LS2 in my Trailblazer SS pushed out even more.

I had a 9-7x Aero with the Ls2. I recognize your name from TBSS Owners.

It's a small world, car enthusiasts always cross paths.

I never used seafood or any intake/valve cleaner on those vehicles.

If i lived in a area that got real bad winters and moisture in the fuel/oil systems i could see using one.

Someone must have edited my post...hahaha

Or possibly your phone auto corrected and you didn't catch it. I don't see any edit history on it

It can't hurt anything. If you plan on keeping your truck for a long time and rack the miles, like to 200k it would help keep things cleaner.

Is it worth adding a catch can at 30K or has that ship sailed? I have used sea foam, was going to continue using the sea foam every other oil change. I have not seen anyone complaining of valve issues on this forum. So is it worth the $ to add a catch can at this point?

Are you willing to sacrifice your warranty for a catch can? GM will void your warranty if you install one. You still have 70k miles left of warranty. I wouldn't do it - especially considering nobody has proven that a catch can actually stops anything from happening on these engines. The valves still coke even with a catch can. Snake oil...
