i need to get off my butt and build a box like that. is that 1/2" for the box and 1/4" for the dividers?

All 1/2". It's 5' in width and 23" in length (front to back) I cut the front to follow the contour of the floor.

The seats do fold down which is nice. I did mess up with the kid though, I need to take an inch off each side so it doesn't drag against the doors when I open.

I'll get a picture of it however now that I have the floor liner it doesn't fit at all like it used to. Prior to the liner it stuck out like an inch from the seat however it never got in the way of the passengers.

That's probably why....I have the gmc floor liners. I didnt think that would add that much height to the floor.

Thanks

i'm tempted to try and do drawers instead of a lid, since i have 3 cars seats installed. ugghh, so many projects, so little time. lol

I thought about drawers but I normally have the seats up so this was easier.

I found it's because of the ridge for the floor storage compartment that you can buy.

Like that box....I have to ask....is that a Boykin?

Back seat storage/ dog bed. Home made. I can take it out easily for passengers.eb1768d00293d5678fbd259a3616e24f.jpg32f6f432b3411b219989f1439906a381.jpg09e542ab16e1b540b9e74425247323a1.jpg

Thanks! No that's Hunter, my Flat-Coated retriever. Their usually black but he's liver.

He loves the box, although I'm pretty sure he's just happy to be in the truck lol.

Flat coats are nice dogs...my Boykin is always happy to be in the back of the truck too! He knows when I throw the moving blanket over the back seat we are heading afield. My plan is to build a box for under seat storage as others have done.

I strapped in 2 of these sideways against the cab so they open from the outside....they're quite heavy duty plastic and can even lock.

I've ran those before, they aren't bad at all...think I still have one from camping.

I had two trucks with roll or sport bars and needed the narrow width to fit between the bars.

Just watch standing on it, I've cracked the lid on one before. It cracked, but never fully failed...ran it that way for a long time but needed to smear some sealant on the inside to keep if from leaking.
