Bedliner Questions

My spray-in came as an option with the truck. I've had various "brands', including two trucks with Line-X. I do think that's best, never had ANY durability issues with any of them and definitely would not own a truck without spray-in liner of some brand.

My Sierra came with a factory spay in liner. This is my first truck with spay in my,9 year old silverado never had one. One thing I miss on my old one is any grease,oil..etc was super easy to wipe up. Now that I really think about it, I think I like it better with out one. Just my .2

Cents.

I love my Line-X liner. I find using a deck brush to clean it works great. I just scrub it with the brush, hose it down, and it's good as new!

My 15 Denali came with the spray in liner. I didn't like it at all. It's rough, hard on the knees and furniture or anything else you slide on it. I got a Bedtred and love it. It resists all kinds of acids, oils etc and is easy to clean. Just hose it down. It covers the bed, front, both sides and tail gate. A can of spray glue makes it easier to install. http://www.bedrug.com/products/bed-liners/bed-tred-ultra.html

Don't have to grind your paint up to install it, you can crawl around your bed on a nice soft surface without hurting your knees, it flattens the bed of your truck, won't scratch up furniture when you slide it on the rug, doesn't puncture like linex, doesn't chip like linex, drop something heavy on it won't dent your bed like linex, cleans up like new with a hose or vacuum.

The bad is it takes a day or two to dry out if it gets wet and it can hold fibers pretty well(think hay).

While i agree that you can slide stuff in and not hurt it or scratch it up, but i would be skeptical to believe that the bedrug would prevent your bed from getting dents in your bed if you drop something heavy on it.

Put a yard of mulch in the back and see how much easier it is to clean up line-x vs a bed rug.

I just detailed my line x. Bed does get used. This is 7 yrs old now. Took maybe 45 min total

True but It would do a much better job than a spray-in liner which offers 0 padding.

Throw a $10 tarp down before that and problem solved. Like I said it does capture fibrous materials in it which is a downside.

I thought the Bedrug was superior in almost everyway to a spray-in liner which is why I bought it. But like anything it has it's downsides. OP, buy what fits your needs.

What did you detail it with? Looks great! Was it just soap and water?

Took it to the coin op and used the brush with soap. Let dry. I then treated with Adams VRT (mixed with water so I could spray it on). Then wiped down

I just wonder if it protects more than the drop in. As far as the undercoating, what pieces did they Coat? Just the frame? And how much did it cost?

the liner will allow sand to collect under it, you con imagine what that does.

The factory has plastic plugs in critical rust areas, they remove and spray inside areas, like bottoms of the doors, inside wheel wells, I was told to crawl around under it, if I wanted anything additional sprayed, they would make that happen.

Really considering getting a spray in Bedliner, so I'm wondering, for those of you that have it - do you love it? is it worth the money? Is it way better than the drop in Bedliner from gm?

Spray in bed liners replace the stock finish and are a durable coating. This option does not protect the finish of your truck. A bed rug, bed mat, and drop in liner covers and protects your truck's original finish. A sheet of plywood was a popular bed liner of the past! My current truck has a bed mat and a tailgate protector, both from GM. This combination has served me well. When I pick up soil or mulch I always lay down a tarp first. I even do this when using my old utility trailer because it makes unloading and cleanup much easier! When I worked in the trades in the 60's and 70's the bed floors were scrapped to bare metal in time. When these vehicles were retired, a coat of Tremclad brushed on the floor would freshen them up! I have hauled a lot of yard and household stuff with my current truck. When I roll up my bed mat for cleaning, my truck looks new.

I have a spray in bed liner on my '02 Silverado HD. I LOVE IT, and if I was to buy another truck, I would do the same thing. My only concern with the drop in liner is the possibility of moisture getting caught between the liner and the bed of the truck... hope this helps
