Installed a elite e2 can 20 min ago, any tips on how often to check it? I did a 12 mile test run to see if it caught anything, just had some smoke in it.

Buy low; and sell high!! :smoker:

Check at about 500 miles; see what you got, and then go from there. Every engine is different.

Every oil change should be often enough, you'll be glad you bought one. i have the same one and really like it. Easier to empty it than the ones on my last 3 vehicles.

I put the same one on about 300 miles ago and I've got a couple of tablespoons in there. It seems that is about half oil and half fuel. As said above, empty at oil change times.

Each one seems different, start out with 500 mile intervals, then lengthen those based on your findings.

Someone mentioned something about every oil change, definitely don't do that as it looks like you are from PA. I would check it about like 100 miles so you can see just how quick it starts filling up in cold weather.

I make sure I check mine and empty it every two weeks, roughly 300 miles, in the winter. It could probably go a little longer but this gives me peace of mind in case I happen to forget to check it, which has happened once and it was like 90% full, scary!

In the summer time, I probably check it and empty once a month just for kicks. Not really as much junk in the summer.

Winter (if cold weather state) every other week. Monthly in the summer.

I personally setup a reoccurring calendar reminder to empty it every other Friday.

I empty mine about every 300 miles during the winter months.

If you're anywhere that gets cold empty it once a week. I only drive about 200 miles a week and during the real cold weeks in Wisconsin mine was just about full.
