I'm wondering why I'm get really poor mpg. All I have is a lvl kit with all terrains and a k&n air flow. On average I'm getting about 15 with no trailer and feathering the gas pedal to keep in v4... I'm not sticking my foot in the floor board all the time to hear the k&n roar[emoji848]. I see a lot of you guys getting 16-19 with pretty much the same setup. I think I was getting better mpg without the k&n.

What kind of gasoline are you burning? Octane? Brand? Even if you don't have your foot to it, just driving at a high rate of speed drinks gas.

I average about 15 as well but dip down to 14mpg with all city driving. I'm not sure how others get higher mpgs.

My average weekly commute is about 40 miles per day with 10 miles on the highway.

I always do my gas mileage out on a calculator after filling up because I found the trucks estimation is always high

Also worth noting, my truck is bone stock except for running 22 inch oem wheels

There's just lots of variables as to why poor mpg happens. I drive about 30 miles to work one way every day and my average is around 18-20. Just kind of depends on so many things it would be next to impossible to give you a true reason. I do know that all vehicles are tested on 100% pure gasoline and not an ethanol mix when the mpg ratings are developed for the vehicles during manufacture. So the sticker on the window will almost never be what you get.

what speed are you driving to get your 15mpg? driving around town, that's pretty normal.

freeways can be deceiving too, because if you are driving 75+ on wide open freeways you will get way worse mileage than someone who drives 60 on rural country 2 lane roads.

The others have already discussed how your level kit and tires probably did lower your fuel efficiency a bit. But keep in mind your tire pressure can also affect it. Driving with too soft of tires creates a lot more rolling resistance. I would check the recommended tire pressure from the manufacturer. (recommended, not the max that is listed on the sidewall) Your truck sensors may think you are good at 35 psi, but the tires may actually want 45 psi in them. A lot of people don't think about this when putting on aftermarket rubber.

I drive 40 miles one way to work in central texas, the hill country. If I use cruise every chance I get at 2-4 miles over the speed limit I am around 16+ mpg. That is with stop lights and hills and a little highway driving. When on the open highway I can get 18-20+ if I don't drive to fast.

These guys getting 20,22,24+ mpg must be cruising mostly at 40-60 mph on flat roads. Or 60-70 on good flat highway with NO lights.

Currently I average around 10-11 on my daily commute to work. I have about a mile with two traffic lights. The engine never reaches operating temp and the mileage reflects that. But even so it's been three weeks since I filled my tank and I've got plenty left [emoji16]

I have an 84 mile round trip every day for work. 90% of that is on 55mph county roads and 65mph highways with 3 traffic lights (and a couple of railroad crossings) the whole way. I average 21.6 (done by hand the last time, not the DIC). I pretty much stick to the speed limit, and watch how much I dip into the throttle. I can make my mpg drop quickly if I really want, but if I'm careful, I really do get pretty good mileage.

mine got 15 city/17-18 highway when it was 100% stock.

its funny they have all this fuel saving technology on these shitboxes but they still get horrible mpg

Let's not forget the few asshats here that claim 25+mpg running 80mph; and the one that claims almost 30mpg.

What size level and what tires/size? I am guessing you went with the infamous KO2's that are one of the most aggressive and heavy AT's (mostly come in E load range) as well as I am guessing a 2-2.5 level? That combined with 4wd did it. Next time maybe lighter tires and a 2wd truck will fix your complaints?

    • Breaking News!    I'm going to tell you that I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I told  you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I'm about to tell you on the other side of the break.  Then we're going to break. Then I'm not going to tell you what I told you I was going to tell you.  But I'll tell you something else that is Breaking News just coming to the desk that everyone reported on yesterday.  Then I'll tease a human interest telling I'll get to on the other side of a larger break. Then I'll tell you one item in 20 seconds and go back to an even longer break. Longest break of the night.  Then I'll tell you a fluff piece that takes 10 seconds and sign off into a three minute break while you wait for the next 30 minutes of rinse and repeat on the local news.    In al you'll get about 12 minutes of something, 5 minutes of which is worth hearing in a 30 minute show and 18 minutes of advertising at a sound level twice as loud as the news.    Of course you can switch to cable news and hear 12 different people tell the same four stories in much the same format as the Network News for 20 hours of which the majority will be advertising.  And four hours of late night Specials about things you wonder why you stayed up to listen to. Half of which will be repeats.....   OR you can go for a drive
    • Did you ever figure this out? My 2022 Trail Boss, and now my 2026 LT did this from time to time.  I believe it was more connected to Android Auto and my phone being the cause. Maybe try going for a drive, sans cell phone.... and see if it happens?
    • I have a 2026 Silverado LT, the non bose as well.  Upgrading the door speakers is pretty straightforward. You could honestly go to walmart, or Auto Zone/ O Reilly and get a set of 6x9s for the front, and 6.5s for the rear. You do also have to get some adapters for each, but they are like $10 a pair on Amazon. Then some plug and play harnesses that are about $10 a pair on Amazon as well.  And I would also suggest a 10 pack of the Amazon Basics sound deadening. Slap that all around the speakers and on the open metal of the inside of the door. And your golden.   I am currently doing this with my Silverado. Although I am having a bit of trouble because I am snooby I guess and bought some Alpine S2 S69c's which are 2 way components and I am having to wire from the door up to the dash....  Having never installed speakers before, its taking me just a bit to get everything correct. But if you dont buy expensive component speakers, and just some $40-$50 door speakers. You will DRASTICALLY improve the sound over these stock paper cone junk speakers. I thought my Silverado had an issue with the radio/ sound for a while.  Come to find out.  The stock speakers are just THAT SH*TTY   I cannot wait to have some decent sound in the truck   What did you end up doing?
    • Its all automatic based on yaw sensor data.  If enough incline is detected, it engages.   My recommendation though would be to disengage it before driving off and not let it auto disengage by touching the gas pedal.  The HD trucks use the same setup as prior years, the drum in hat park brake.  But now with an electric actuator.  If you drive off repeatedly over time, it can torque the park brake shoes and can also prematurely wear them out.           Electric console shift will set the park brake on flat ground too.  Pretty sure they've got it programmed to activate every time.
