2017 6.2 fuel?

What are you guys running in your 6.2 sierra/silvarado's? And if running 87 how does it compare to running 93?

The 6.2 needs 93 octane. It has an 11.5:1 compression ratio. You are severely neutering it with 87. The knock sensors and ecu will pull significant timing.

I use 91 non ethanol when i can get it, or 91-94 premium only.

I only use 91 - 93 top tier gas in mine.

91 minimum octane recommended. 93 octane is not available in all areas.

91 or higher, don't bother with 87 or 89.

93 octane premium top tier fuel. Only time someone else fueled up with 87 octane truck pinged badly.

I was having trouble with 87 octane making my engine ping severely! As soon as I ask around on this forum, everyone said try to 91 or higher octane. After I started putting in 91 or higher I have had no pinging issues and my mileage increased considerably! My last tank of gas was the best by far. The extra cost of higher octane fuel is well worth it!

As soon as I did my first fill up after the dealership did the initial fill up with 87, I could certainly tell a difference.
