Nice to see a fellow surfer, I keep pretty much the same gear in the truck. Im based out of Tampa, FL so the lockable tonneau for my drives to the east coast are clutch, pop the extra board in the back and don't have to worry about the kooks stealing it. You got any surf-based mods you're really liking?

Yea have a Yakima Bedrock rack for the boards in the bed. Allows for easy transpo when my 5er hitch is in the Turnoverball

Never understood leaving firearms in vehicles...keep it always on my person....however, in my vehicle, folding utility knife, Surefire light, aspirin, jumpers, tape, bungee straps....duty bag, call out bag.

One really shouldn't. I'm retired LEO and Texas had determined that 60% of illegal guns used in crimes were determined to be stolen from vehicles and on top of that most of those were open vehicles! So over 50% of the guns criminals have were from legal owners cars. There is a custom fit gun safe that fits perfectly in our huge console, is bolted in, and under 300 dollars. That ios the way to go if one wants to leave it in their truck, otherswise the odds are against you for not having an issue eventually.

Here in Florida they were hitting all the Police cars for weapons. Police officers here can take their car home. Many departments now have a policy to remove weapons from the car after work. There was a case where teenagers stole a gun from a police car and he accidentally killed his friend playing with the gun. He explained the car was open. They brought charges against the PO.
