Bye Z71, Hello 2018 DURANGO R/T BRASS MONKEY AWD

Fastest grocery getter around! We have the same thing only in a jeep and when my wife hits the gas on the highway that thing just jumps up and goes. A blast to drive. I worry about her brakes as well haha. The only downside and it's minor but we have had 3 leaks in almost 10k miles. They act like it's normal when we take it in too.

I have to admit, I don't know crap about any Dodge products post the 70's. Anyone know what the hell a "Brass Monkey " is? Lol

I just realized that I have to haul off an old mattress and box springs this wk end. Oops

I was just told that Diablew also tunes these things. Hell yeah! If true. Had a Blackbear on the Z71 and loved it. The Durango has a Sport mode that really feels like a "sport" mode. The transmission tuning is spot on in both normal and sport mode. It's just fun to drive. It just "feels" great. If the next gen GM twins felt this good I swear I would buy two of 'em on day one. I'm still a GM guy but this little Monster makes me feel like I'm doing something a little....dirty.lol

That's a nice looking Fiat.

Do a product review for us when you get some miles on it!

Should be a fun ride.

That thing is sweeet looking. I don't plan on giving up my 6.2 HC but the wife's Cadillac srx might be time for an upgrade.....?

Congrats! Very nice ride. I traded in a '15 Chevy SS for a '17 6.2 Sierra. I miss the SS's 6.2, push start, magnetic ride, HUD and sport/track mode button. It was much more fun to drive.

It was not a truck though...

Enjoy the new ride,

Man, this little Monster is a BLAST to drive!!!

Until you go to stop. I think I need bigger brakes.lol

You know, you might be on to something. I convinced my company to change from Dodge trucks to GMC Sierras and now I have one that is nightmare. I still have the Dodge Ram, 256,000 miles on it, still looks good and runs great..5.7 hemi... Maybe you are on to something.

This is just plain insanity that anyone should have to rebuild and re-engineer a brand new truck because GM refuses to fix issues.

I heard those Durangos ride fantastic. Like I said the 5.7 is a great engine.. enjoy

Hope you have no reason to join a Dodge truck forum.

I got involved with this forum in hopes that the cowards that built these GM master pieces would contact me and help but that is obviously not happening. They remain cowards.

I am apalled how apathetic GM is both at their customer care center and on these forums.

I have a great relationship with the dealership but they have no clue what to do to fix my truck. I feel bad burdening the service manager so instead I keep adding and removing weights to the bed and reading these forums. Is that the way GM wants the cunsumer to experience the GMC Professional Grade Truck?

Was on the dodge website building one out of curiosity and found what "brass monkey" package was. Pretty much the bronze 20's and gloss black badges .

Bullshark, you hit the nail on the head. I was driven into the arms of another mistress. I had a love/hate with my last three "current" generation trucks. Last week I took my Z71 in for repairs and recalls(4 of 'em) and when I got my truck back the steering wheel was about an inch off center from where they replaced the whole electric rack and pinion and did an obviously poor front end alignment and it was just something every day. So I drove the truck to a drive thru 6 dollar car wash, took it home and cleaned it out, and drove it straight to the Dodge dealership and bought the Durango off the show room floor. Now we're talking about a 2014 with only 20k miles on it. I bought three 2014's within two years. All three were nothing but trouble. It was like lovin' a woman that's always cheating on you.

I really hope this Dodge doesn't disappoint down the line, but I feel like I just come up for air.

This thing is just fun to drive. If it starts falling apart. ?... they build the new VW's here in Chattanooga. I'll just try one of those. Lol

Also... thanks for your comments guys. I can't "like" them from my phone.

That's why I'm gonna stay on this forum even though I'm a traitor at the moment. Just a good group of people.

Keeping my fingers crossed for 2019/20 the Silverado.

Gm to mopar to vw, youre going the wrong direction if youre after reliability. Maybe after vw you can try alfa romeo.

Should be going gm to honda/acura to toyota/lexus to 90s honda civics to 80s mercedes diesel
