Haha... just kidding about the VW. Missed the sarcasm. They build those emissions cheating pieces of crap here in my hometown, city gives them all kinds of sweetheart deals. They took over the local community college for training only their employees. Screwing up traffic...etc,etc...let's just say I am NOT a VW fan.

I get your point but what would you do? Buy a fourth lemon or opt for a change of scenery?

I own a 2014 Durango limited, just hit 60,000 miles and besides a bad shock in the rear at about 20,000 miles, the durango has been great. We will buy another one when the time comes. Every vehicle has its problems, but i have to say the, my 2015 Sierra was at the dealership more in the first 20,000 miles then the durango was. Enjoy your new durango.

Sounds like you've had more trucks in the last few years than I have in the last 30 years!!! Never had a major problem out of any vehicle I have owned but I know some do. I keep my vehicles for a long time though. I also have a 2012 Jeep GC with the 6 cylinder. That thing has had tons of recalls (just like my 2014 chevy) but it has been a great vehicle and has never give me any problems. I have drove it across the country a couple of times now and it is my go to vehicle when we get the occasional big snows over here. The downside to owning a Chrysler product is that your driving an Italian owned vehicle (Fiat) so it is foreign as a toyota or volkswagon even though die hard mopar guys get pissed off and don't want to hear that. We are looking into getting another GC and my get something similar to yours when the time comes.

I have a great relationship with the dealership but they have no clue what to do to fix my truck. I feel bad burdening the service manager so instead I keep adding and removing weights to the bed and reading these forums. Is that the way GM wants the cunsumer to experience the GMC Professional Grade Truck?

I have had nothing but trouble with any RAM I have had to deal with.

Your dealer is a fool if they can't figure out how to soften your ride. Saying that your frame is too stiff is absolutely laughable.

Well, It’s been awhile since I’ve checked in since buying the ‘Rango.

I REALLY love driving this thing and the transmission in sport mode is fantastic.

But like I stated I have kept my fingers crossed hoping the ‘19 twins would be a better truck..... until I saw that stunt with the helicopter dropping in the new Silverado. Finally we get some round wheel wells and the rest of the truck is about as sexy as an ass full of poison ivy.?

They should have dropped it from 500 feet up.

This will be the first new Silverado that I will be taking a pass on since I can remember.

It just looks....”desperate”

RIP to my 2014 Z71. I loved the look, just too bad it was a lemon half the time.

DAMN!!! It pisses me off . I really wanted a new Chevy. But that front end treatment kinda like the Tahoe that juts out just ruins it for me. I’m shure some will love it regardless.

Now I’m torn between the new Ram or adding a SRT Hellcat to satisfy my mid life crisis.

Definitely disappointed GM. Maybe next time. Until then, try hiring some new designers. Please!

Glad to hear you are loving it still. Its your money and decisions so i dont agree with all the negative comments. Sound like you made the right choice.

Just get a utility trailer for when you need to haul things and you will be fine.

I got a 2014 sierra SLT and gave my 2011 bmw x5 diesel to the wife. I still love driving that thing! 265hp 420tq is a blast to drive

Durangos are nice, but they are backed by FCA. After driving Mopars for the past 12 years, they have gone way downhill since FCA took over. I just traded my '16 Ram 2500 Cummins for a '17 Silverado 1500 Z71. FCA doesn't back their products for crap. I had an issue with mine that was unresolved due to repeated bad parts from FCA, and FCA was going out of their way not to honor the warranty. There was also a fiasco with my wife's '16 Charger, where they gave our body shop the wrong part number, which resulted in us waiting for the wrong part for three months. When we called for updates, FCA rarely called us back, and they wouldn't let me escalate it past the hapless case manager I was working with. When the body shop figured it out, we got a half assed sorry from FCA and no offer of renumeration for the extra two months we had to pay out of pocket for a rental. I'll never buy another Chrysler product as long as I live.

My mom had a 11 Durango that was great. I think it was needing a strut around 90K miles so she traded(keeps stuff about 4-5 years). She now has a 15 R/T that is red and a really nice ride. I have been a Mopar guy my whole life but my newest vehicle ever before this was a 2010 Ram bighorn 5.7. It had an obscene amount of repairs/issues in the 120K miles i put on it. I do work it hard (tow and haul a lot). FCA supports most of my family financially but I do my own work and was so tired of messing with my vehicle. The Ram didn't have tiny issues but major component repairs. Was going to need another rear end at 140k miles. Mind you, it had all of its service intervals under the extreme duty schedule (sometimes before). It hauled max payload a lot but never even half of the rated trailer towing capacity. It was always something. Drive 2 months and another issue pops up. Take a long road trip, and another issue pops up. Sad to be out of Mopar world but happy so far.

I went with an almost new 16 Silverado. It has had a few issues under warranty mostly annoyances and shitty dealer service but otherwise its great. Has developed the shaky idle though at 38K miles. If this thing doesn't hold up I am not sure what direction I will take next. Maybe Toyota? hope not. I doubt I could do Ford.

Glad you are Enjoying the Durango, The hemi/8 speed is an animal. I never had a minutes issue out of the engine/transmission on the Ram other than leaks. Oil pan gasket and new timing cover(due to some weird reaction with the WP gasket and timing cover material corrosion) and a water pump at 130K. Didn't really want to see inside the engine on a 6 year old truck.....

When end it comes to appearance, performance, features, MPG, technology, the list might be reversed.

Do do the big 3 lose reliability/quality control related to production volume? Is it accurate to assume the catastrophic failures (I am not immune) are but a small % of the production run but the production run is so large that the failures still represent a pretty large number?

My thoughts exactly! The 2019 reveal was UGLY! I'm not a fan of the 16-17 front ends either. I'm happy with my 14 as I think it's the last best looking front end Chevy has made.

Honestly can't say but it may be percentages by large numbers. My best friend had an almost identical 2013 Ram to my 2010. He had literally 0 issues over 80K miles and he did no preventative maintenance at all. Given, he doesn't tow/haul like me. In 80K all we did was turn his front rotors once and one set of tires. My uncle has a 16' corporate lease Ram. Almost 60K and no issues at all. It rarely tows and hauls some light loads. Has towed his 67 Coronet R/T about 3 times total. It's a V6 8 speed. Frustrating when you have issues but you have to think probably only 1-5% of buyers are members of forums and most likely only come to complain when they have issues.

Who knows.

Nice ride......I have "14" Charger w/5.7 and a "16" Challenger w/ 6.4 485 HP Hemi. I have had no issues with the 3 other Hemis I have had. the 372 HP 5,7 makes for a fun ride.
