I found a few threads on here but did not find anything concrete. Im looking to change the front and rear diffs and the front transfer case. From what i have gathered its OK to run 75w-90 in both diffs? Whats a good full synthetic i should be able to pickup locally? Also, whats a good synthetic fluid for the front transfer case? Thanks!

Perfect time to ask. Lol. I changed my diff fluids last weekend and did my transfer case yesterday. Mobil 1 75w-90 is fine for both front and rear. I used some Castrol synthetic ATF dex 6. Autozone pricematches amazon, so that might save you some shipping costs. cd323571667c4256cc138325a670c524.jpg

Yes, Mobil 1 found locally will work just fine as will the Castrol dexron VI. The gasket on your rear diff is reusable.

Anyone know a good, finned, rear diff cover with drain plug as well as filler hole? Don't seem to be too many options for the 14+ yet

Advance Auto, Car Quest 75W90, full synthetic. Castrol Transmatic Dexron IV. I see no advantage to paying more for oil. If it meets spec, use it.

The important thing is changing it not matter what you use.

I need to change the diff and transfer case fluids on mine too.
Did anyone use Amsoil for the fluids? Since, I run their engine oil. Was gonna try to switch to Amsoll everything.

Old info but I think it applies. In 1988 we bought a 7.3 Ford one ton mostly for pulling a camper and back up eq hauler. At 100K miles the trans fried. We had just become Amsoil dealers and took their fluid to the rebuilder to put in. Around that time we added a banks kit to the engine and gear venders to the transmission. We use it for an additional 185K no more transmission troubles. From then on we change to amsoil transmission fluid and never had a failure again.
