2015i GMC 2500 HD brake/coolant flush

Have 13,587 miles on my 2015i GMC HD...December was three years old and is it too soon to change coolant/brake fluid? Good friend of mine is a service rep at a Chevrolet dealer and is leaving soon so want to get things done before he leaves.

Seems early to me. Your are just a little past 1/2 way to the recommended 'time' interval, (and have only used the first 10% of the mileage interval for the coolant change)

For the 'severe duty' maintenance schedule:

Coolant recommendation is first of 5 yr or 150,000 miles.

Brake fluid recommendation is 10 yrs or 150,000 miles.

OTOH the only damage it will do is to your wallet.

3 years and only 13 thousand some miles? Wow, I drive a lot, will put that on my truck in 4 to 5 months. I would say you're fine on the fluids, as long as they look clean.

Can never hurt to change fluids early. Do it while your buddy is still there so he can make sure they do what they are supposed to.

Dexcool is spec'd for 5 years or 150,000 miles, which ever comes first.  Brake fluid is every 3 years or 45,000 miles, which ever comes first.  The coolant rating and brake fluid rating are found in the maintenance schedule in your owners manual.  If you look at the chart for each of those fluids, there should be a footnote and in the footnote section it says "or X years whichever comes first."  Those specs are found on both the severe and normal duty charts.

Thanks for all the replys...

I tow to Kentucky with a race car every year for the tri 5 nationals and to local races a few times during the year so it gets used in the heat. I do batteries at three years...it has two and will do the trans as well. The front/rear diffs are done as well as the transfer case and the trans was rebuilt at 2,581 after it blew up on the way home from the races.  Will do the brake flush but will see on the coolant.
