she also said some light was flashing on the dash sporadically, I'm more concerned about that. Haven't seen it yet. She tried to draw me a picture of the light that was on, it was hilarious, I wish I took a photo of drawing.

What the hell kind of sensor could be triggered by that damage

Parking garage, I will give her the benefit of the doubt that sometimes parking garages are very tight.

She called me in tears....."but hunny you were so mad when I scratched the wheel, this is so much worse then that, you're going to kill me"

Wow, so nice to see all these stories. I am not alone. 20 years of marriage and too many stories. We counted 11 rims curbed the other day in 9 years. The last accident (that wasn't her fault? her version.) she was in a parking lot and the woman backed into the side of my S550 at the front door. So my wife nailed the gas trying to move and ripped it down the entire side of the car!!!!! Now with the new Denali she won't even ask to use it for any reason. Bought her a new Jetta and told her this is it, your last car!.....20 months not one issue with her car!

I am fortunate that my wife lets me treat the truck as if it is mine.  She would ask me to use it although she never has driven this truck.  My last truck she drove once in six years in an emergency.  I don't fool myself in thinking she would need my permission or that she couldn't drive it on a regular basis.  I know there would be a holy reckoning if my permission was seen as anything more than a cute courtesy!

I must be luckiest guy here. Not a fear at all if she drives the truck. She loves the "Thunder Truck" ...almost as much as her daily driver Pontiac G8. I think it makes her feel like GodZilla in tokyo. She hasnt crashed or dinged a car since the 76 Crammo in the 80's.

I'm right behind you on being lucky. Single like a dollar bill here so no scratches or dings here unless I do them myself lol.

I let my wife drive my 14 once.  She drove it to Iowa and I was a neverous wreck the whole time she was gone.  Told her to park as far away from anyone as she could get.  She would even take pics to show where she parked lol!  She has never driven my 17.  Not sure why I worry so much, she is a certified driving instructor.

My wife drove my 17 off and on for the 6 months while I was deployed. I was nervous as hell at first, but let it go after a couple months being gone seeing how I couldn't do anything about it.

OP, sorry to hear about your truck,  I know how we all love them as much as the wife or girlfriend.

My wife took my truck this morning due to me blocking her in the garage, guess she didn’t want to just move it. When I walked out to leave for work a few minutes ago I found a nice set of tire marks on the driveway. Good news is I know my G80 is working!

I had the exact same thing happen too ... except the damage was from bumper-to-bumper ...

... and it wasn't my wife driving the truck, either - it was the Chevy dealership's LOT TECH ...

My wife ain't the best driver either. When we were dating many moons ago, she cranked a parked car after dropping a McDonald's soda on the floor ...  Thankfully it was HER car at the time.  She said, with a straight face too, "Can you believe the cops gave me a sobriety test???" :rollin:

"Umm ...YES".
