Greetings all. I've read threads from forums at this site for so long that I thought I would join up. I have an 99 GMC Suburban with 146K miles. It looks kinda beat up on the outside, but the internals/mechanics have been well taken care of. I'm not a mechanic but have been doing a lot of the routine maintenance myself lately and have grown quite fond of the old beast. In the past few months I've done some front end suspension work (upper control arms), brakes/calipers, installed a new cat and leaky exhaust gaskets, replaced door pin bushings/weather seals, installed a Frantz oil bypass filter, flushed the coolant system and ditched Dexcool... and will be replacing the fuel pump soon. I've mostly been using the GM powertrain manual for the L31, an ALLDATADIY account, YouTube, and online postings as reference. Anyway, I'm glad to be here.
